They have very little flair- probably only Sessegnon. The rest is just pure graft filler, but I imagine O'Neill loves 'getting to work' with his British workers. I'd expect more of the same in the summer. A few were moaning on RTG about his refusal to drop Craig Gardner but it should be no surprise. He's a player who is happy to chase shadows and put his body on the line to block shots etc and has the ability to score from 30 yards now and again. MON will love him when they've got ten men in their half at home to Fulham and get a lucky break up field. Awful, predictable manager.

In terms of quality they're actually regressing. At least under Bruce in his first few seasons they had a handful of decent players. Bent was a danger with pace and got goals, Gyan was tricky and full of flair, Mensah and Cana were good players when fit. I think it's going to get worse under MON in terms of personel, I wouldn't be looking forward to next season if I were them.

[Cattermole and Colback] - surely should be the centre mid partnership next season, colback getting better every game and cattermole on top form runs games, new right winger with a bit of pace, kightly possibly and we will have decent midfield with mcclean on left

Quite a staggering statement. Sums up why clubs like Sunderland will be mediocre for a long, long time.

They actually think a first-time midfield with Cattermole, Colback and Kightly is going to bring them success. Imbeciles.

The supporters of a shitty little club in Durham don't recognise the Fairs Cup.

And won nowt over their glorious all-conquering spell.

Haven't won a recognised trophy for 57 years (and counting).

But they're going to get a couple of trips to Albania/Serbia/Macedonia/Belarus.

Can't deny it mind, TBH.

I'm fucking gutted and jealous.

'Cos they're certain to get at least one good trip, by the laws of average.
