Amalfitano agreed to join Newcastle at the end of the current season for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.1 million. He was quoted as saying: " I am very pleased to be joining such a prestigious club as Newcastle, and i can't wait to wear the black and white stripes and of course, meet the silver fox that is, Alan Pardew."
