Revolution Number 9
Not as much of a blow when we all knew it was coming and a replacement has come in already. Hope he does well
Klaus
Debuchy only come here because his mate was here, as soon as Cabaye left he couldnt give a f*** tbh. He'll love playing with his mate at Arsenal then. Cabaye was pretty much the only attraction he had to us. Arsenal play good football, have a good manager and champions league football. Plus he will be on much bigger wages now.
Flip
Don't remember the last time we had as good of a right back as Debuchy. Just a shame he came into this team when Alan was managing it...

It's fairly easy to claim Debuchy only signed because of Cabaye and that was probably true, what's also true is that he would have stayed if we'd shown ambition and that is never going to happen. Stuy_O
Disappointed to see him leave, top player imo. Comes in quite a bit of stick but I think he's got the lot as a fullback. Janmaat coming in though is very pleasing.
Tooj
12m according to SSN. Good business to effectively swap Debuchy for Janmaat and Riviere. Not a personal affront to you but I am sick of the term good business being banded about when it comes to transfers in football nowadays.
Disco
Can actually stomach this as he's been replaced immediately.
Kanj
I never took to a RB in modern times as much as I did with Debuchy. Loved his fight on the pitch at times and was always hoping one of those rocket corner kick volleys would rip the net off. Just liked the way he played, he had rediculously good aerial ability, tackled hard, and made our attack look very smooth when we actually attacked well. Shame we saw probably half of his talent at SJP as he wasn't being utilized right or had the wrong guy in front of him or next to him in defense. Good luck to him. bhoywhonder
I dont bear Debuchy any ill will, and to be honest Im glad I saw him in our shirt - on his day he was world class. Janmaat coming in has sugared the pill slightly, but who knows how he might turn out. At least shows a modicum of planning behind the scenes rather than the usual frenzied land-grab for profit. Those boots are an absolute disgrace mind.

Sammys_Tekkers
Sad to see him go, was excellent last season. Glad we have already sorted out a replacement, really softens the blow of losing him.
David28
12m according to SSN. Good business to effectively swap Debuchy for Janmaat and Riviere. Agreed, 2 unproven premiership players are far better than one who is proven to be class. Not really important how "good" the business is we've just done as it's all over for them in a few years time anyway. Thing is, Debuchy hasn't played as well as he can for us in his time here. To get two players effectively in for him isn't too bad.

Yeah, have to agree with that. Too early too tell. We'll see, but I've got a good feeling for now. As I've said, sadly they won't be here for that long if they turn out to be really good. Foluwashola
Good luck to him. Didn't get the opportunity to refuse to play like his mate and we have the replacement in. Everybody is happy.
Ste
I really like him as a player. Committed and good at his craft. Really don't like how we once again haven't progressed as a club to match the ambition of our better players. I wish him well.
Guest TurboTrev
Good luck to him, although I wasn't sure at first, he won me over. The consolation is, we look as though we have a decent replacement. Wonder what odds I can get for Arsenal signing Cabaye before this time next year?

Can't believe the money we got for him when Arsenal only offered £10m for Cabaye last year. Maybe it was true that he only saw Cabaye as a squad player whereas Debuchy would definitely be first choice.
aussiemag
Cabaye was poor the season before Arsenal tried to sign him. The 6 months after their failed bid, he was immense.
midds
No axe to grind at all with the bloke. He naturally wants to pay at the very highest level he possibly can which he'll never be able to do up here due to the entire ethos of our club. Arsenal judge success by competing in Europe, winning trophies and developing players. We judge success in pounds and pence.
Klaus
Our 'stepping stone' status is truly awful from our point of view, but i suppose it is our best bet at attracting good players from abroad at this moment in time. Bare in mind we spent around 2 years tapping up this bloke for him to spend only 18 months here. His age is probably another factor in why we cashed in on him now, had he been 4/5 years younger the fee would have been a lot more, and he may have been here for a longer period of time. henke
No axe to grind at all with the bloke. He aspires to bigger and better things, can't fault him for that. After a shaky start he came on to show his true class, Man United away I though he was unreal. I remember going into work later and the neutrals on my shift raving about Debuchy. Good luck to the guy.
r0cafella
He'll be talked about the worlds best by the media now he's at Arsenal. Guaranteed We've created our current status to be fair.
The College Dropout
Did a complete 180 on Debuchy. Ended the season as one of my favourite players. Wish him well with a serious club.
