buzza Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Really feel sorry for him! He was our star player in a quite a few games when we were complete rubbish, our only shining light... Come back Cabaye, Tiote and even Perch and he's out the team. Tiote is obviously the direct swap for Perch and I for one think that now that he doesn't need to be "attacking" he can concentrate on what he does best; breaking up play. I would certainly have had Anita on instead of Jonas based on his form prior to the newbies, but he has picked up again now and is playing better... He should play tonight at some point, think it will be to replace sissoko or cabaye at around 60 or 70 if we are winning... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Him and Marveaux saw us play with completely different dynamics for a while, and you could see how Anita was coming into his own. He's a brilliant link between defence and midfield and has pace and energy about his game that we need alongside Cabaye. The problem is, as we've learnt, that Pardew likes a tackle on the pitch. With Mous & Perch in the side we are now a "big" team. Less likely to concede from set-pieces. Stottie Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 I reckon he's a canny player. A definite improvement on Perch or Jonas and hopefully that's not read as damning with faint praise. He looks very decent as fullback cover too. As with Tiote, I'm sure he'll improve on the ball as Cabaye, Mou, HBA and Gouff offer more options than he's had in games earlier in the season. Anita is class but he doesn't stand a chance when the ball's pinging around everywhere. as far as the first XI goes thats a point, however it also relies on tiote returning to what he was, if not then i'd put anita in. my only concern at the minute regarding anita is he seems to be caught for a bit strength and stamina, something i'm sure will come when he's used to the prem, in fact i'm confident we'll see a different anita next season.
