Kanji
And this isn't a red? http://s27.postimg.org/ini4dg2s3/image.jpg This. Just rewatched the match and all that. FA can fuck right off.
tmonkey
Aye, watching it again it's pretty tame stuff. I think the reaction of the players (on both sides) made matters alot worse and contributed more to the two reds than anything else. One of those situations where if the ref makes a quick decision it'll be a yellow for both players, but because he walks in clearly unsure of what to do whilst both teams kick off and start pantomime wrestling/squabbling, the delay gives the ref time too much time to think, resulting in a red that reflects the aftermath of the incident more than the incident itself. This is why Pierluigi Collina was such a great referee and why the game needs more refs of his standard. He'd have been in there like a flash with yellow cards already out and diffused the entire situation with a firm caution for both players, giving absolutely noone the chance to get a word in. This referee was unfortunately far too weak, he had effectively lost control of the situation and was doing nothing to calm things because he couldn't even find the Norwich player who started it all for a couple of minutes - surely refs should at this level should be a bit more competent than that? Crumpy Gunt
Pardews post match assessment that the red card was warranted very likely swayed the decision.
merlin
There was never a hope of this decision being overturned and Pardew's swift U-turn on appealing indicates that he was pressured into backing the appeal...probably desperation by Kinnear and Ashley who foresee a bad result on Saturday and natives getting restless. All they have done is to make the club look even more stupid than they do already.
Nobody
And this isn't a red? http://s27.postimg.org/ini4dg2s3/image.jpg That picture should have been sent along with the appeal. "Here you go, please use some consistency this once, please".
nufc4eva
Its just ridiculous that Johnsons got wiped out. What a joke the FA really are. There shouldn't even need an appeal. They should review every red card after games and cancel them if soft. They should also review incidents whether in ref report or not and override like Shelveys. They potentially cost clubs money with their decisions if the club are without important players for a few games. It could cost a club a couple of places in league or lead to relegation. They need to be much better than that
Flip
Just seen this over and over again, Remy doesn't even make a move forward, they both meet halfways for the kiss and then Bradley goes down. Props for Shola outmuscling everyone after that in the altercation between players. Hooper and everyone trying to get a hold of him and he just pushed everyone off. alexf
Not sure it would have made a difference. Every single player was 2nd best to their opponent.

I think it would've made a huge difference, until goal we were looking bright but without movement up top.

Gallowgate Toon
We changed our whole plan because he was gone. It's not his fault, though, the manager should have the intelligence to realise playing the game we did was an atrocious idea that never would've worked. The upheaval wasn't necessary. Skirge
Should be hanging his head in shame, we rely on him so much the next two games are going to be agony.
Wullie
Cabaye, Remy and Gouffran all played at their place and they still rolled us over. As long as Pardew is in the dugout, they will win every single time, no matter what the XI is.

wyn davies
Remy won't be along this way for long, so we may as well forget him and stop going on about the red
