Maintains that he wants him in the squad, but willing to sell if a bid comes in. There haven't been bids high enough so no movement there. He isn't needed/ready for the match squad, but is still liked and wanted. Meanwhile Moussa and his agents are whining on in the press, trying to force a move. Publicly, United insist they are hopeful of keeping Sissoko on Tyneside past Wednesday’s 11pm deadline, but the midfielder is desperate to depart St James’ Park this summer and has yet to feature in the Championship so far this season despite having returned to training four weeks ago. And it is believed that a bid in excess of £25m could yet be enough to persuade Newcastle to sell the unsettled 27-year-old, as long as the vast majority of the fee is paid up front and Sissoko is offered acceptable terms. The club will not sanction a loan move for Sissoko, however; either the midfielder departs permanently, or he will remain at St James’ Park. Italian clubs Inter Milan and Juventus have already bid for the midfielder, as have Real Madrid - despite the Spanish side’s public denial. Crystal Palace and Everton have also submitted formal offers this summer, as have West Bromwich Albion, though the Baggies’ bid was deemed as risible and dismissed out of hand. United are expecting further offers to arrive before the deadline shuts, with West Brom still believed to be hopeful of offering Sissoko favourable terms and convincing him to join. It is understood Sissoko would prefer a move to one of the European clubs but he may be forced to move to a Premier League side due to the financial clout in the English top flight. No shit. Seeing as Sissoko's the better player, Rafa won't bow down to anyone and will set a marker to both players and other English clubs that Newcastle won't be trifled with as long as he's in charge. In the unlikely event that Sissoko is here after the international break, I reckon he'll seamlessly slot into central midfield. So there's no way we lose out on this deal. Above all he emphasised the importance of creating a team ethos with everybody pulling for the cause, and because of this suggested Pep's main strength is quickly spotting and getting rid of bad apples. I think Rafa has the same philosophy; it's all about the group. For that reason, personally, I'd take whatever and fuck Sissoko off. Business wise, if we only get a piss take offer, then we can stick him away from the first team until his attitude and desire improves ( though this is hardly going to lead to better offers in Jan). Advertise the club as a stepping stone, then you'll get twats like this who don't give a shit and only put any effort in when it suits them. If he'd put the effort in he did at the Euros in every game, they'd be lining up and the price would be going through the roof. Honestly don't care if he goes for £30m+ now or is stuck here and leaves in January for around £15m to Palace or West Brom.
