@SkySportsAmy: Sources: West Ham are talking to the following about the vacant manager position: De Boer, Unai Emery, Slaven Bilic & Marcelo Bielsa

:anguish: I would love any of those. Surely they have to be considerations for our post...

Viera is gamble, great players don't always make good managers, but it would be more exciting than just another British manager from the usual suspects.

And whoever is next coach, he is handcuffed with Carver as assistant? Grim.

Isn't it possible that the new manager could bring a no.2 with him with Carver still being a part of the coaching team?

Being a #2 requires both the manager and players to trust you. Can you imagine reverting Carver to assistant (cos he's still on that 8-year deal), after hanging out the players to dry during his incompetent managerial spell? And in the rare chance that we appoint a former top player in Vieira, on how he's going to work with this tool? Great sign of the new direction MA is having us heading.

Poll needs to be reset really, sounds like it's Garde, Vieira, McClaren or someone else that hopefully isn't John Carver.

BBC reckons they'll be appointed within the next fortnight ().

Laudrup innit?

That would just confirm the idea that McClaren has the job and the rest of the names are just PR.

Possibly.

Remi Garde seems to be having another surge of mentions.......if only.

@Iandennisbbc: It's my understanding Remi Garde is not under consideration for the #NUFC job. #bbcfootball

Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC

Patrick Vieira and Steven McClaren on #NUFC's four-man managerial shortlist. Remi Garde another. Appointment in next fortnight

I think it's fair to say that the BBC don't have a fucking clue
