Who would you go for?

Given Benitez's history of squad over-rotation it makes me think he's very concerned about the conditioning of his players. Would be nice if he could kick-start a new fitness philosophy at the club.

I'm warming to the idea of Benitez, a lot.

Tbf, that's one side I defo want from him.  Coaching/Off the Field wise I'll take him, managerial wise he's awful imo.

Ketsbaia is still the one for me, family love Newcastle, he knows about the club/fans, passionate and has a very good record in all the managerial jobs he has had so far.

:nods:

Definitely one for the future. Would like him to take a bigger club job first though. Was bizzarely sacked at Olympiacos but worked miricles with Georgia and Famagusta.

Yeah I'd love to see him given a chance.

I would have thought most people's main question would be about football philosophy rather than achievements.

From what I have seen he knows how to set-up a team to play to their strengths, that's always a good start.

I haven't seen his record, decent?

Lost 9 games out of 108 in charge of Anorthosis, won 5 out of 6 with Olympiakos without conceding a goal (yet was sacked) and doing fine with Georgia.

Maybe not achievements, but winning football. The best teams play passing football but they can defend when they need to as well. That's what I would look for.

Auclair's just tweeted saying that Montanier is in talks with Montpellier about succeeding Girard.

Montpellier confirms Jean Fernandez to take over Rene Girard as manager in the summer.

37.04% win percentage for Georgia, given they are 91st in the Fifa rankings that isn't bad at all.

Still only 45 too so plenty of years and learning in him.

He also hinted at being Newcastle manager in 2008 so there was interest. Can't see compensation being much if anything (not sure what contract he is on at Georgia).
