Guest firetotheworks
I'd look at playing him up front in certain situations tbh. He's a cut above most of the rest of the team.
Guest
Should get to double figures.
Decky
Very important player for us. And we'd have all been happy to see him leave over the summer. Funny ole game football.
Jayson
Well in Gouff, keep it going lad
Foluwashola
Really poor penalty to concede, but made up for it with that goal. Aye, beyond stupid for the pen but forgiven.
TRon
It was a decent header tbf, got in where it hurt to get on the end of that.
Lush Vlad
Did he head the ball against someone else or into his arm or something? Looks like it takes two touches before it goes in.
Scoot
Did he head the ball against someone else or into his arm or something? Looks like it takes two touches before it goes in. That's exactly what I thought when i seen the goals again before. It's hard to see to be honest but it does look like it takes another touch just after he heads it. jimmymag
Tenacious little twat, and surprisingly good in the air. Keep it going lad.
Figures 1-0 Football
The most improved player under Rafa? He's genuinely like a new player after we've managed to take the Pardew coaching away from him.
samptime29
First name on the team sheet But seriously, really happy with his form. Much improved, and scored some important goals.
James
The most improved player under Rafa? He's genuinely like a new player after we've managed to take the Pardew coaching away from him. 4 managers in a row he has been introduced to as a fringe/unwanted player yet forced his way into the side. It's no coincidence, you would put it down to application in training and following the managers instructions on the pitch. Difference now is that it is Rafa's training and Rafa's instructions. Ronaldo
He's an utterly shit LW, mind. I'm happy he's getting goals but we'd be much better with threat on both sides so teams are prevented from just doubtling up on Ritchie and Yedlin. James
Don't think they will double up on Ritchie when the managers of our opponents see how many goals Gouffran has scored unmarked so far this season.
Fenham Mag
Individual Ligue 2 player of the year: 2007 Just saying. He also scored 15 goals while helping Caen to promotion.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
He's an utterly shit LW, mind. I'm happy he's getting goals but we'd be much better with threat on both sides so teams are prevented from just doubtling up on Ritchie and Yedlin. He is, but in this league, the defensive graft and cover he provides is invaluable. Wouldn't mind us not having to rely on that though and slowly introduce Atsu for a run, might be a bit early but quite like the very small amounts I've seen from him so far, seems to try and make things happen. AyeDubbleYoo
The problem is you have to consider him and Dummett together. Could be awful with Atsu providing much less protection to a FB who is already prone to getting caught on the counter.
xLiaaamx
Have we got anything to suggest Atsu is lazy and wouldn't do his work defensively?
Kevo
People can't seriously be debating whether we should find a replacement for Gouffran in the side? He's arguably in the top few players for us this season, along with Gayle, Ritchie and possibly Hayden imo. They should all be starting when fit ahead of any other player. DJ_NUFC
Imagine a Laurent Robert type in his place, with Ritchie on the right. Double-barrel baretta, m'f'kers....
joeyt
I didn't think he was very good on Wednesday if I'm honest
Guest neesy111
I didn't think he was very good on Wednesday if I'm honest He was poor, barely noticed him all match. Side was totally unbalanced.
sempuki
Keep him until the Summer imo: http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle/14836574.TRANSFERS__Newcastle_face_January_dilemma_over_Yoan_Gouffran_as_Lille_prepare_long_term_contract_offer/

TRon
I don't really see how it is a dilemma seeing as he's under contract until the end of the season anyway. Beyond that he probably won't be needed anyway.
