Scotty66
Agree Pardew has to remain professional. However he really shouldn't have said that, plenty of other things he could say. e.g "I'm sad to see Joe leave, his experience in the game was invaluable to us"
afar
I hate Pardew as much as anyone, but there's nothing wrong with what he's said here. All he's done is not be a c*** about a man who has lost his job. We'd all love to have been mouthy and said how we hated Kinnear, but he really can't do that in his position. There really is nothing to see here. Move along. He didn't need to say the "he's done a lot of good work bit" really stupid, open himself up to further questions. He could of easily said, "I don't like to see anyone lose their job, I wish Joe all the best for the future" simple non contentious and non ambiguous. Unless of course his intention was for questions to be asked about this so called "good work". These managers are supposed to be schooled in these press conferences, he should know better. Hughesy
The Pardew quote anger has almost become a parody of itself now.

Guest firetotheworks
The lack of surprise when Pardew talks utter shite works to their advantage because every time it happens we're less surprised and there's less of a reaction. I was going to make a point asking why anyone is talking about it and why people are surprised, but I'm pleased that people still are. The longer there's a reaction to that utter prick's quotes the better.

Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt, he still comes off looking like an idiot.

54
Steve Wilson just said on Football Focus that he contacted Comolli through a third party, and he said that he would be interested in a role at the club, although there has been no contact. Take it for what it is.

Klaus
I just seen that, i thought we said we weren't looking for a replacement for Kinnear at this moment in time. Regardless of who comes in (if anyone) they will be hated from day one, and probably wont be taken seriously from our point of view.
Joe_F
Ashley would never hire him anyway but yeah no thanks. His transfers record at Liverpool and Spuds is a joke.
Chapo
Not that I'd want him but wouldn't Carr still be the one identifying the players and Comolli negotiate the deal?
Dokko
I'd hate to have someone with experience and professional standards in the role. I'd be sick. Much rather have a drunken baffoon who is full of lies and arrogance when meeting players and agents. Fuck that. We'd be a joke getting Comolli, we'd end up signing players and shit. triggs
Ashley would never hire him anyway but yeah no thanks. His transfers record at Liverpool and Spuds is a joke. The business he did at Spurs was generally good, he got Modric, Bale, Berbatov. Carroll and Adam were his only massive mistakes at Liverpool aswell

The main issue (and why Ashley would never hire him) is he's not all that good at negotiating decent prices (if that was his job)

Guest zicomartin
I'd welcome Commoli. He has worked for Monaco, St Etienne, Arsenal and also speaks Spanish as well as French / English. Just think how useful that might be in our transfer dealings with South America. Its obvious he couldn't do any worse than the blundering JFK who has a track record of offending more than one French player in his grand total of 12 months here, it's no surprise french clubs have started talking shit about us. JFK could barely even speak English without abusing somebody, ffs, we seriously need to re-build some bridges, IMO. Ashley should've finished him the day after he self-announced his own return, tbh. Anybody who thinks signing players is only about money, needs to think again, it's about relationships and selling the vision. That's something our esteemed manager is also pretty crap at, too. We'll be lucky if we ever sign a player ever again. "Come to Newcastle - We don't want to finish higher than 8th and we plan to get knocked out the cups as early as possible." TRon
interesting comments in the match thread from golfmag about this cunt promising Ashley 25m for cabaye and a replacement before the deadline.
