The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Vitor Pereira to Wolves

Recommended Posts

I am not sure his relative width concept (if i understand it properly, may well not!) would yet fly in this league, there's too much speed and width still (it is noticeable that Guardiola very consistently has been winning leagues with wide attackers who stay wide) it would end up with some hefty losses on the counter.  I dunno Nagelsmann shouldn't be dismissed he has achieved good things but like Klopp had 7 years at Mainz, Guardiola had time with Barca B, can't help but feel he will get once more chance with an elite team before he has to retreat and rebuild his reputation somewhere like Spurs. Going to chelsea will fast forward that.

Probably an incredibly unpopular opinion but think Lampard overall did okay at Chelsea.

Obviously Tuchel’s impact illustrated the gulf in managerial quality. But Lampard did get top 4 and a cup final in his first season.

In a way, he was totally fucked over by Chelsea signing big-money talents - Werner and Havertz, that were just clearly not his picks at all.

Chelsea were right to get rid though.

And also not that good.

His biggest failure was his inability to get them to defend properly. He's not a good coach.

If Havertz was Turkish, Bulgarian or Senagalese he would get far more criticism.

He's got talent and will score lovely goals, show some touch. skill and movement. But he's so inconsistent. Flatters to deceive. 3 managers have not managed to get him performing on a consistent basis. German players (ethnic Turkish don't count) don't have a reputation of being sometimeish, lazy, inconsistent, lacking authority but he's exactly that. Half the criticism of Ozil with half the output.

O'Neill was dinosaur over a decade ago. No plan B at Villa past keep it tight, launch and hope.

Hells bells even when he wasn't a dinosaur his football at Leicester was putrid. Horrible team of spoilers.

Obviously it would just be short-term but still.

Martin O'Neil man ... should have just kept Rodgers till the end of the season if that's the alternative

God, I am so happy we've got our stuff together and we're not involved in all this mess.

Foaming Leeds bottled it and got a real appointment and didn't go for O'Leary now.

Quite possibly the only thing that would make the relegation battle more entertaining this year would be if the bottom 8 all followed suit with Palace and appointed an old managerial relic from their past.

Leeds - O'Bleary

West Ham - Curbs

Wolves - Mick Mac

Leicester - O'Neill

Southampton - Pards

Forest - Dave Bassett

Everton - Allardyce

Bournemouth - Redknapp

Imagine.
