Kaizero Posted Thursday at 19:00 Share Posted Thursday at 19:00 Just realized Frank Lampard's got a 13-3-5 record in the league since taking over at Coventry, that's a PPG average of 2.00... If stretched over an entire season, that's 96 point – which was enough for direct promotion all of the five most recent Champo seasons before the current one, would've won the league two out of five times as well. Does this imply that, god forbid, Lampard might actually possess some tactical knowledge and acumen? Or is it just a flash in the pan freak run of form? If anyone that keeps a better track of the Championship than I do (which wouldn't take much) could enlighten me about which of the alternatives it is, I'd appreciate it 🙏🏼 Until someone tells me otherwise, as I'm not exactly about to go look at Coventry highlights or keep any more track of the Championship than currently (which'll likely be checking in on the standings in 3-4 weeks time) to figure out if Lamps actually has some previously unknown/unseen managerial talent or not

Nine Posted Thursday at 19:09 Share Posted Thursday at 19:09 (edited) I’m not sure Lampard should have ever been considered a bad manager (unlike Gerrard). He has had appointments at scatty clubs and still done generally okay-good, I do feel that a club like Coventry is a good fit for him to. Be interesting to see how they do at PL level if he can get them up within another year, as that is the level that he still needs to prove he belongs at. I think he’s avoided another bad circumstance type of job like he walked into at Everton and his interim Chelsea spell. Must be nice to work without some of the insane pressure he would have felt there. Edited Thursday at 19:15 by Nine

Sibierski Posted Thursday at 19:24 Share Posted Thursday at 19:24 Thing that’s in Frank favour, he improves players. Shown it at Derby and Chelsea with the younger players. Everton a bad move for him, because that’s a side that’s downwards and just scrapping.

STM Posted Sunday at 17:05 Share Posted Sunday at 17:05 I'm sure he's a sound bloke but Sean Dyche comes across like the exact dinosaur English manager he's perceived. There's barely anything he says that I agree with here and more than a smattering of condescension and excuse making for shit English managers like himself. He infers the Eddie Howes success is because of money, or at least goes out of his way to make that point. Who was the last footballer who got better under Sean Dyche? Dyche is a disgrace and will be lucky to get another job. Moyes is hardly innovative but had Everton playing some half decent stuff and not just lumping it from Pickford after a week in the job. MagPar Posted Sunday at 19:19 Share Posted Sunday at 19:19 (edited) My Scottish team dunfermline have just given Neil Lennon the managers job until the end of the season. If he keep us up he signs a 3 year deal and gets a juicy bonus. If we go down, we part ways with him. We're currently in 9th place out of 10 with 7 games to go(Scottish Championship), 10th is automatic relegation, we're 6 points ahead of 10th with a game in hand and a vastly superior goal difference. 9th place goes into a relegation/promotion playoff with the winner of the 1st division playoff winners. We're 2 points behind 8th with a game in hand and a vastly superior goal difference. We've also got both teams to play again so it's in our own hands. Lennon is our 3rd manager this season, the other two were hopeless, we've also been bought (2 months ago) by an American consortium and so far they've splashed the cash, getting us new players in (mostly loans but we've paid for a couple),we also spent money removing 1st manager, spent money on the second as well as spending to get rid of him 11 games later. It's not big bucks compared to Newcastle but it's a small fortune to Dunfermline. For the record, Dunfermline are arguably the biggest team in the Scottish championship due to our much larger support than many SPL teams, we've just had a bad 10-20 years where we've underwent administration and nearly went out of business due to older owners overspending, leaving us in the shit and seeing us relegated to the lowest league (at the same time as Rangers). Thankfully the fans came together to keep us alive. Here's hoping he installs confidence back into the players and helps to keep us up before building a squad capable of getting us back to where we belong, the SPL I'm aware this story will have no interest to 99.6% of the forum but it might interest someone. On top of that, we play in black and white, just like Newcastle, hence my love and support for Newcastle as my English team. Come on yee Pars. Come on the tooooooon.
