Same thing, just a different, slightly less globally well known name. The US has tech and media oligarchs, Greece has shipowners. And yes it gets passed down the line, usually with a lot of soap opera type dramas along the way.

He's been linked to heroin being smuggled by the ports in Greece multiple times - tonnes worth. On top of bribery and murder, I have no idea how this guy passed the fit and proper test the EPL have set. He's an actual gangster.

Pilko
We would have all yearned for Marinakas to be our chairman and perform long overdue firings on Pardew and Bruce during the awful long winless runs we had to endure during the Ashley era. He's a complete moron but I think it's more incompetence and really bad knee jerk attempts to get it right at Forest. Ashley wanted us to be a low maintenance bottom half PL side and had no intention of getting it right.

Ashley took a mean 5 season rolling finish of about 7th to relegated twice average rolling position 16th or something. Forest have gone from 30-40 something in the pyramid to top 17. Nothing alike. Wolfcastle
He's much more a Jesus Gil than an Ashley. Marinakis wants the best for the club, maybe too much so that he can't take percieved setbacks. Ashley would resent us going above the level he's prescribed for us, like the clubs had too much money and he less if we were 10th when we could budget more and be 14th

Miggys First Goal
Football clubs should be allowed a maximum of one sacking per season. Once you’ve sacked a manager, you’re stuck with the replacement until the following season.

wong989
I wish we could get some answers on the Anderson deal. Whoever let that happen folded so badly it’s embarrassing. Essentially we got 15 mil for a homegrown very highly rated (just under probably) top tier young talent. And no clauses. Thats the behaviour of a club with no options, thats facing administration, not a club with the weight of a nation’s oil money behind it. It seems like the owners away and execs are just backstabbing trying to get power and there’s no hierarchy, structure or plan. Think the board need to be flown out to the kingdom , shown what the stadiums are used for on non match days and told to get to work.

I think the reality is most clubs were happy to see us suffer a 10 point deduction which would have had a huge effect on the season and probably unsettled some of the top stars. Forest were in a similar position and we did the necessary. Anderson’s stock is a lot higher now than it was then. He was played as a winger/forward thinking midfielder, whether he would have done what he has done at Forest here is very debatable. Of course it looks shit in hindsight

Menace
There's no correlation between Ashley and Marinakis at all. Imagine Ashley spending £180M on us the first season we went up to ensure we stay up. Marinakis is bat shit mental but he genuinely does want the club to progress/increase in value. We had Charnley doing 6 jobs for 1 salary.
Erikse
Ange is loving this. Instanly going on the Overlap to talk about how hard it is for managers there. Ofcourse he has a point, but he was still shit. Edited February 12 by Erikse
Erikse
He has a point here, though. The cartel is really made of 5 clubs, not 6. Tottenham have a bigger budget than us, but they have still struggled to land top signings in the same way that we do, due to wage cap etc.
