They should go all out for Iraola. Canny parallels with Pochettino.

Hopefully they appoint Big Sam. Can we kick that rumor into gear?

Spurs fans are on some high grade weed.

Poch

Robbie Keane

Good ol' arry

Sherwood

The clamour for Poch is ridiculuos. Its as if he'll just come back and get them success.

Feels like they've tried so many different 'styles' and been abysmal recently, it's not surprising they just want something that worked pretty well previously.

Aye, it's probably an emotional choice like how we were thrilled when King Kev came back. But Poch ain't the same anymore just like Keegan wasnt when he returned.

Poch is looking forward to a World Cup. Maybe he might go there in summer though. Can’t see anyone else proper good moving to them now. Maybe they try Alonso.

Who could Spurs hire to improve them at this stage ? They dont have a good team, in fact its shit, they lost 28 games kart season and have lost 13 already this season.

Maybe they should play football instead of karting...

They've got a horrific injury list but my word some of the players out there last night. Tel and Dragusin were absolutely hopeless. Spence looked disinterested. Gallagher was crap. Bissouma, Palinha and Sarr allowed us a free reign in midfield.

I thought Solanke was decent with zero service.

I thought he was a good appointment and that they would be more of a threat, how wrong I was.

I'm in a charitable mood so I want to put this out there for anyone slagging off Spurs fans. I wonder if there are parallels between Frank's appointment and Allardyce's here. To outsiders they saw a coach who had shown their worth at a smaller club and were ready to step up to a bigger club. Fans of the club were less sure, they saw a practitioner of dour football who didn't align with what they wanted to see from a club they ultimately went to see for entertainment. I find it hard to criticise any fan base for wanting to see their team play exciting football (except Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea fans, they can f**k off into the sun the entitled w*nkers 😉).

Yep. Think he'd score a good amount for us. Can see why Howe bought him for Bournemouth, even if it played a fair part in his downfall there.

I got the same feeling.

Tbf I don't watch them play except against us, but if I just look at their statistics, they were 17th last year, they are 16th now. They only had the distraction of Europa League last year, and this year they have the distraction of Champions League and they finished 4th in the league phase - above the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid. They were also seconds away from upsetting PSG in the Super Cup.

Many of us think that Howe is doing an excellent job, if you apply the same standard I suppose Frank is at least doing a decent job though not as good as Eddie?

I think their UCL form has to be put into context. Of the eight teams we faced the lowest finishers were Bilbao in 29th. Four of those we faced either qualified directly or made the playoffs.

They played four of the bottom six in Copenhagen (31st), Frankfurt (33rd), Slavia Prague (34th) and Villareal (35th). No one they played qualified automatically. The highest was PSG who they lost to in Paris.

They finished with an identical goal difference to us, and one more win. With their fixtures I feel we'd have qualified easily.

Agreed his two best chances just before half time where botman? saved popes bacon and the bicycle kick was goal bound had it not been blocked. Showed while the team weren't feeding him enough he was able to create threatening moments regardless.

Yeah Tel was shocking all game and Sarr looked entirely disinterested, I thought they largely defended well though, lots of good blocks and defensive headers, first 45 mins was attack versus defence and they largely coped with it well, though the Thiaw goal was awful from them though that was Sarr all over last night. Xavi Simmons was their best player but the rest of the midfield just didn't help him.

If he was still at Bournemouth I'm relatively sure he would've been the Isak replacement

My thing with Spurs is I genuinely couldn't tell you who their best players are. They're a bit of a mystery to me. They actually have a very deep (bloated?) squad and none of it I would consider dross at face value, but I genuinely wouldn't know their first choice XI from their backup XI in terms of quality.

Outside of maybe VdV and Romero being I think clearly their best CBs.

They definitely suffer from a lack of identity I think. They'd probably be better with a tighter squad and a few more homegrown players.

The oversized NBA style squad has probably been why they're doing well in Europe however, where competitively their rotation is better than the sides they're up against.

Really like Solanke. Would have him here, good age and could help us play how Howe likes us to play.

Pick him up in the summer when Spurs have a relegation firesale

Spurs job is similar to ours, not many leave with an enhanced reputation.

Could see it being Glasner, but think he has the same struggles as Frank did. De Zerbi would be an interesting appointment.

I don't think that's true in relation to our managers. Hughton, Pardew (outside of Newcastle supporters), Benitez and arguably Bruce (outside of Newcastle supporters) all left with undamaged or enhansed reputations.

Bruce left with an enhanced reputation? His next two jobs were in the Championship and then in L1, hardly an upward trajectory. I'd argue Pardew and Benitez probably broke even in terms of rep going in and coming out and I'd agree Hughton enhanced his (because he'd never had a full time managerial job before us) but claiming Bruce left us smelling of roses is bonkers.
