Could be burned out and in need of a break. Could also have seen the transfer plans and budget for the season and left to avoid having another relegation on his CV.

Strange, but fair play to him for putting his health and family first.

 

I can imagine a scenario where he asked the board for significant backing to stand a chance of staying up and they basically told him that they won't stump up, so he saw the writing on the wall and bailed before getting another relegation on his CV.

 

That and he's probably sick of Ed Sheeran rocking up with a guitar gatecrashing his team talks.

Interesting to see who they get to replace him. Do they go abroad and take a gamble or do they go for a more tried and tested option?
