The club’s intention last season was to finish in the top eight. Because we finished lower, the club re-evaluated and we want to finish in the top ten this season.

We actually think we've got a strong squad and we are capable of finishing in the top ten of the league.

The board repeated that its aim this season remains a top ten finish.

Our minimum target for this campaign was a top ten finish.

Minimum: the least or smallest amount or quantity possible, attainable, or required.

Target: a desired goal.

We're 5 points better off. The Cardiff result could make that 6 or 8 points but it's still fucking dreadful.

5 points gained with a borrowed striker who has scored the goals that have turned a few draws into wins. That's the only thing that's keeping us above the relegation zone. Once he signs for a proper team we're right in the shit. It's untenable for Pardew, he simply can't do this job any longer. He's totally and completely and utterly fucked.

It's a matter of time.

Yep, i remember it being clearly said in the statement last season that the minimum was a top 10 finish.

Just to repeat what others have said as well, the way he keeps going on about this "5 game run" as if it's just a blip is unbelievable. We've been on a horrific run since January with about 9 defeats and 3 wins (all with late goals in 1:0 victories) The team has been dreadful for a long time.

It's hard to avoid this conclusion now like. The only thing that might save him is the end of the season, and a couple of signings in the summer to do the same again. It seems as though he's gone past the point where he can turn it around.

Who on earth would back this man's judgement? He's inept.

"Aye, you've proven to me that you know absolutely fuck all and are incompetent. Here's £40m to spend on players, use it wisely."

That would just be a case of rinse and repeat though and is pointless.

Well presumably he wouldn't have much of a say in transfers, as before.

I agree but it depends on your POV. If (and I doubt this) all Ashley wants is PL football he might go for it. Depends on how messy it gets from now until the end I suppose, we have at least two more epic batterings to come.

Even then. Giving him £40m worth of players  would have the same effect

Jack Colback and Jonjo Shelvey don't strike me as Carr picks.

I can imagine Martinez walking into an Ashley / Llambias / Charney interview and opening with, "I'll get you into the Champions League."

Cue "wow wow wow, slow down there, Shirley."

Fucking cunts the lot of them.

Pardew and his fetish for shit players. A team of 10 Goslings + Blob Jelliot on the pitch would have him cum non-stop for 90 minutes.

Not to mention the absolutely horrific time we had last season. He genuinely seems to think people only have a problem with the last 5 games - fickle Geordie twats.

If Pardew hasn't lost the dressing room then the players are admitting to being a shower of s***. How badly would they play if they had given up on Pardew? They couldn't possibly play any worse could they?

“When you look at the season on a whole we have done extremely well.

“But the form has dipped and that is the frustrating part.

“It puts a little cloud over the season.

Don't know what we're all complaining about, it's been a great season lads!

“The lads have got high expectations of themselves in the dressing room. We just need to get back to basics."

He's been brainwashed too I see. Almost word for word
