Ally
People saying Mourinho wouldn't fit the image of Manchester United seem to have a very rose tinted memory of Alex Ferguson. Amazing manager but fell out with more players than Mourinho ever would, banned the BBC, stormed out of press conferences etc
The College Dropout
Mourinho will be a disaster as Man U manager man. Car crash TV. Absolute disaster as in.. qualifying for the CL, getting out of the group, putting 80 points up in the league? Total disaster. 80 points? not with that squad he won't. they'll spend money on it

Amazing manager but fell out with more players than Mourinho ever would, banned the BBC, stormed out of press conferences etc They mean the promoting youth team players & attacking football when they say that. The main way Mourinho fits in with Man United is that they both love making money for Jorge Mendes. He'll be buzzing his diamond encrusted tits off if it goes through. That's the only major drawback short term. They've got a fairly young squad anyway. Although they won the league Mourinho gutted the potential of Chelsea in just 2 1/2 years imo. Mata's more creative and exciting than Oscar. Long-term KDB > Fabregas although they play different positions. Lukaku over Costa long-term. He's not replaced Terry and sold Luiz. Froggy
Lukaku over Costa is going to take quite a few years mind. Lukaku has been far better this season. I'd rather Lukaku.
STM
Think Mourinho and Man Utd would be a perfect fit, personality wise. His style may be defence before attack but his sides win, first and foremost and that's what matters. As a stopgap to get them back amongst it, he would be just the fit. Deuce
It'd be such a cliche hire, ManU springing for Mourinho. He might bring them a trophy or two, but he'll eventually fall out with players, make loads of expensive signings regardless of whether or not they're needed (thanks Jorge!), stunt the growth of their younger players, and fuck off after 3 years. If they had any imagination or sense of patience (and they aren't the only club with this issue), they'd invest in a young, promising manager who might not come with instant success but would stick around for years and provide long-term success and stability. Or, ya know, give LVG more than a season and a half to meet their expectation of winning the treble and creating the greatest team in the history of the universe. Incognito
Mourinho and Manchester United isn't a perfect fit at all. But he's a better fit than what they have currently. He wins things but not in an attractive manner.

Aye he might be an Argie but I think Poch sticks at Spurs for a while yet unless it's Real, Barca or Bayern who come calling.
