Don’t blame them at all, but it’s a bit of a pisstake/shite punishment to say he can’t play, when there actually aren’t any games anyway and it’s likely he’ll just be off on holiday someplace (to slag Brentford off again.) Football is a small community when it comes to pros, if he's been telling mates who play for other teams that he's been putting down X on outcomes then it creates influence at a level of football where wages aren't great. Also, would be the easiest thing in the world to place your mate's bets on his team, while he places your bets on your team, to game the system. It's why there needs to be zero tolerance.
