Sky Sports reporting any ban is going to be for atleast 6 months.

I don't really like to lose promising players from the Premier, but this needs to be nipped in the bud. He needs a punishment that would make him realise how stupid he was.

Apparently his ban suspension won't start immediately as he's told his friends & family he will be available for Brentford's 1-1 draw with Fulham next Monday night, in which he misses a late penalty.

Yes. Brentford supposedly want the ban asap so that the summer months are included.

Not shocked. They're pretty much safe from relegation now. If they can get it started this month he will only miss the rest of this season & the first few games of next. .

Don’t blame them at all, but it’s a bit of a pisstake/shite punishment to say he can’t play, when there actually aren’t any games anyway and it’s likely he’ll just be off on holiday someplace (to slag Brentford off again.)

It'd obviously be worse if he's betting on his own games, but betting on others is still crap. Football is a small community when it comes to pros, if he's been telling mates who play for other teams that he's been putting down X on outcomes then it creates influence at a level of football where wages aren't great. Not assuming that's what he's done but need to protect from that scenario.

Probably their best chance of ever qualifying for Europe in the league, though? Hopefully the ban kicks in just to finish them off as a top 7 competitor.

Also, would be the easiest thing in the world to place your mate's bets on his team, while he places your bets on your team, to game the system. It's why there needs to be zero tolerance.

Now what the family of modern referees get up to I can only wonder...

He’s in no position to ask for investigations and for people to be punished, like.

Why not? He deserves a fair hearing like anyone else. Doesn’t seem fair if they’ve already leaked what’s likely to happen.

It's a typical lawyer tactic. Muddy the water by putting your accuser in the dock.

It seems a bit weird that this is taking so long, no? Feels a long, long time since the initial charges were brought forward.

I'd expect any ban to start about 7pm on Wednesday.

Not following it closely, but yeah, it smells bad.
