Still only 26, Shelvey, must be in with a chance of making Euro 2020 if he maintains form.

Actually, idc  :)

If he maintains his current form he will definitely go as England will crash out after failing to break down teams that just sit in front of them and everyone will say we could have done with Shelvey

Shelvey doesn’t break down teams that just sit in front of him.

A back 5 with 2 holding midfielders against Panama and Tunisia ! Southgate is pushing his luck there perhaps he should chuck another keeper in as well.

Just catching up on Monday's Totally Football Show.  David Preece says that Livermore should be ahead of Shelvey because in our game against WBA a few weeks ago Livermore played better. Very odd logic.

Watched a clip of a journo  asking Southgate specifically about Shelvey, his response seemed really disingenuous.  He said that “we know all about the English players” and never addressed Shelvey personally, he didn’t even say his name back to the interviewer.  It’s clear he just doesn’t like him,  no chance he’s getting anywhere near England whiles he’s in charge

With Kane, Vardy, Stirling, Rashford, ... making runs, he just might. I love Vardy and under Pep, Sterling has turned into a very good wide forward.

The Joselu goal against Liverpool for instance, doesn't go down as an 'assist' as Matip played it on to Joselu.

Last year Gayle backed himself to just hit those first time when they came to him. Now he's always trying to take a touch rather than doing what got him goals to begin with.

Right foot and left foot pinged passes. Perfect weight for the receiver to run on too, which as an attacking move is more of a threat than just to feet (which he could still do if needed)

Vardy would absolutely thrive from these passes, that is what won Leicester the Premier League, and if that doesn't work the movement from Kane would give Shelvey a perfect chance to play him in on goal.

But forget that......we'll take loftus-cheek.

That this lad ended up with only 3 assists from 35 appearances this season is a terrible indictment on our strikers.

Criminal that he's not in the Cup squad at the very least, Gareth has absolutely bottled it. He's a special talent that changes games in ways a lot of our midfielders wouldn't dare try or have the talent to pull off.

imagine if rafa can rustle up a gem this summer that has something like the pace and movement of vardy

I think the pace part wouldn't be the difficult part. Its Vardys eye for goal and accurate finishing that would be the challenge in recruiting.

Cedric Bakambu and Callum Wilson are similar. But Vardy is still a better finisher.

ah i suppose i left out the finishing aspect, pace is considerably easier to buy than good finishing yeah
