This person I vaguely know of got in touch with Primula Cheese to ask if they do guided tours so that he could take his daughter. It might come as a surprise to you reading this, but they not only didn't do guided tours, but had never had anyone make that request before.

I went to the pencil museum as a young bairn too

Even got meself a few pencils to take into school the next week, what a dork.

Pencil museum  :spit: hahaha

I know right?! Pencil museum, what's the point?

On the subject of niche musuems Yokohama has a 'cup noodles' musuem and the museum of broken relationships in Zagreb is actually really good.

You'd think that'd be more appropriate in Split.

I'm here all night folks.

Former Sunderland footballer Cabral has been cleared of raping a 21-year-old girl who was filmed in bed with two Newcastle footballers 36 hours before his trial.

Mobile phone footage played in court showing the woman in bed with Toon players Kevin Mbabu, 21, and Rolando Aarons, 20, nailed the lie she pretended to have no interest in footballers - wrecking her credibility to a jury.

Cabral - real name Adilson Traves Varela - told police it was consensual sex following mutual attraction in the VIP room of Livello nightclub in Newcastle city centre in January last year.

The woman claimed the 27-year-old raped her after inviting him back to his flat with two girls, nightclub promoter Colin Peters, 23, and fellow Sunderland player Anthony Reveillere, 36.

The court heard claims she had chased six black footballers who flashed the cash on a Saturday night and visited Livello seven days into the trial only to be kicked out.

She denied claims she was after compensation insisting she wanted justice and Cabral jailed.

After hearing his account of a fun after-party in a 10-day trial at Hull Crown Court, a jury took just two hours to find him not guilty of two charges of rape.

The alleged victim and her mother and father were not in court to see him cleared.

Cabral, dressed in a blue suit, white shirt and sporting two diamond earrings, unpursed his lips and put his hands to his head.

Speaking outside of court, Cabral said: "It has been 15 months of hell. It never feels good when some girl lies about you and now everyone knows about your life.

"When I was first told I was being charged with rape in the police station, I was really angry for my family and friends. I knew it had not happened."

He added: "It has affected my training.

"It has been on my mind. I just want to get back to playing football now. That night was to be my last night out in Newcastle. She ruined it. It is a night I will never forget."

Judge Jeremy Richardson, QC, said: “The defendant can of course be discharged.

“We have all learned things in the course of this trial, which I suspect you may not have wished to have learned.

“The DVD evidence only came to light just before the trial started. We thought the case would only last three days – but it has gone on much longer.

“There was a submission at the end of the prosecution case for the trial to be stopped. I could not stop the case in law.

“I observed at the time, if I had the power to stop a weak case, I would have done so. I make no observations about the propriety of bring proceedings.

“I do not criticise anybody in bringing the case even though as events turned out it was not a strong case.”

Cabral - who had a girlfriend in Switzerland at the time - admitted to police he regularly went out in Newcastle looking for sex, but insisted the girl had asked him for sex and left without complaint.

His defence barrister Kitty Taylor said the girl may have made the accusation up in a drunken, tired state in a taxi home with friends after initially insisting nothing was wrong.

The case took a dramatic twist two days before the trial when Magpies defender Mbabu sent the defence three videos of the 21-year-old out in Livello nightclub and at his home – following his birthday night out on April 23.

In the clips the woman was filmed with her arms around Mbabu in Livello and taking a selfie. In another Aarons, his face covered with a mask, was on a bed with the woman and her friend in bed with Mbabu. Mbabu denied the woman’s claims the second girl in his bed was his girlfriend.

The woman was also asked about sexual relationships with other past and present Newcastle footballers including Kazenga Lua Lua, Ivan Toney, Nile Ranger and Michael Hoganson.

She admitted dating Lua Lua, 25, some years ago, but said she was only pals with Hoganson, 22, Ranger, 25, and Toney, 20. She denied making a rape claim for money.

When he took to the witness stand, Cabral told the jury: “I never raped her, I was not aggressive towards her.

“When you are accused of raping someone, you then sit down and start thinking thoroughly why would someone come up with all these lies if not trying to destroy your life.

“Kevin told me she had sexual relations with all these players. I was also told that she was out a great deal in Newcastle. I didn’t see this but I believe him. I do not believe that people are trying to harm [the woman] by lying. Why would all these people say this? I am innocent.”

Oh wow

And the mackems sacked this lad, but let Johnson off?

One thing I have noticed, when we lost at Arsenal, Wenger said in his interview he didn't understand how a team with our ability was down there, Klopp said similar a couple of weeks ago in his press conference....I don't seem to remember seeing similar quotes about this lot.

Probably because these are the proverbial turd that wont flush... and have been down there since they came up last.

Hopefully this time, the flush will take them away.

Odds aren't made from some genius deciding what's likely. It's the result of a betting trend. Just loads of confident mackems, basically.

That's true when betting trends are probably down to insider info (eg transfers, new managers) but not in the case of matches.  Those odds are determined by who the bookie thinks is going to win.

Never seen them as low as 7/4 to beat Chelsea mind. For some reason that's making me more nervous.

Chelsea's last eight away were W6 D1 L1. I guess our fans will want to stay away because the risk of cursing it, but the odds for anyone betting on a Chelsea win will be relatively tasty.

But that's just the starting odds, isn't it? Then trends change the odds so the bookies have less chance of losing out.

Correct. They're initially set by an algorithm then a different one adjusts to the trend to minimise loss. Will probably be some sort of complex least squares regression model.

Bought a proven goal scorer and he saved them, who knew that would work? Big Sam is a horrible cunt and the fans are rancid as well but as far as the football goes they deserve to be in this league more than our shower of shite. Least we've a full set of league fixtures to try and win next season though rather than starting out 2 down as usual.

Fair play to them after being Chelsea at home after being 2-1 down.

We had a solid attempt in recent weeks but the damage has already long been done. Some of our players are shocking and we're positionally imbalanced all over the pitch. I'm not as gutted as I thought I would of been and after watching that it's pretty clear we deserve it.
