ExiledGeordie
Can't stand them but they bought a proven goal scorer and have players who fight for the shirt whereas we don't. That's ultimately been the difference.
Dr Venkman
Every fucking season, man. My only crumb of comfort is that they'll have to watch Allardyce football for the next few years. I wonder how long it'll take them to get ideas above their station and hound him out.
Revolution
They have survived yet again to be in another relegation battle next year. Pointless Cunts. No way. Cushty mid table next year.
Klaus
They have survived yet again to be in another relegation battle next year. Pointless c***s. No way. Cushty mid table next year. They have scraped survival for about 5 seasons now.
toontownman
Pulled themselves up and played much better than we have over the past few months. our turn to feel there ping pong pain again.
cp40
simply went out and got the players they needed for the job of staying up while we fucked around with absolute arsehole in charge.
Pilko
Once again, the unflushable turd pulls out an unlikely result at the right time.
Chris Banaloona
Fair play to them. Deserve to stay up.
Flip
Once again, the unflushable turd pulls out an unlikely result at the right time. They've pulled out as decent results as us lately. They also have a game in hand. I thought the 2-1 down and pressure would make them crumble, but watching Cattermole and Colback says a lot while they're staying up. Both are horrendous footballers, but one drives his team forward with passion and wins every challenge at every cost, while the other is a coward who does nothing. sempuki
Hate them with a passion but fair play they always pull something out of the bag.
toontownman
Credit where credit is due. And their place was jumping today Have to agree with the latter too. Haven't heard SJP that passionate (with good reason) for too long. There was never enough true belief and confidence at our club that we would survive from the fans obviously down to the players. Only shining light is the fact Ashley pockets won't be lined with the tv money. Downside to that is he will just make us pay for it by being even more of a skin flint. Ketsbaia
Big question is - with a full summer and full season there, can Allardyce take them to mid-table? I can see it.
Ronaldo
Hate them with a passion but fair play they always pull something out of the bag. They've got a manager who knows how to scrap points with shit players. I knew he'd never take them down. He's too good at what he does. Defoe, too. Proven quality at PL level. People might want to remember that next time we're linked to someone who's scored 1 in 2 against Sunday League footballers in some tinpot European league and the place goes apeshit. Superior Acuña
^Agree Defoe's the real difference. Allardyce will make them a miserable midtable team, but without someone like Defoe he wouldn't have turned them around quick enough to stay up. The difference between being willing to pay the wages of a proven, if past his best, PL striker and chancing it on youngsters with little experience has relegated us and kept them up. Guest neesy111
They are down next season as they won't get their customary 4/6 points off us.
Wallsendmag
Well done to them for staying up but it should always be remembered that they knowingly played a paedophile in order to do so. As has been said they won't get their customary points off us next season so they'll need to find those extra wins elsewhere.
Bimpy474
Everyone does know they still have to beat Everton right ? If they lose/draw we have a chance at least.

DJ_NUFC
Defoe's the real difference. The difference between being willing to pay the wages of a proven, if past his best, PL striker and chancing it on youngsters with little experience has relegated us and kept them up. This, basically. Defoe was the key ingredient that made the difference between the two teams. They identified someone who can score in this league for fun. While we bought and stuck with a kid and two grandfathers.
Superior Acuña
Woah - this is actually Defoe's second best (PL) season. 15 goals, only bettered by 18 in 2009-10.
nufcjb
Everyone does know they still have to beat Everton right ? If they lose/draw we have a chance at least. It's gone now. And they can afford to lose to Everton and still stay up since they have Watford. An even a draw then and even if we beat Spurs, they'll still stay up. It's gone.
