Wallace
The good thing about Rafa is that the fans have a lot more respect for him rather than any of the players, his name has been sung constantly since he arrived and player power is non-existant. I'm at the stage now where i'm not bothered which league we play in next season so long as Rafa is in charge. This is what I have been saying. The players can no longer use the manager as the reason for their failings because the fans are 100% behind him. Makes a change from the recent charlatans we have had managing us in recent years. I just hope that is something that the board have also noted.
Paulie Walnuts
i don't think we'll stay up which is heartbreaking as Rafa is the best thing that's happened to us since Sir Bobby. IF we were to stay up would Ashley back him? We know Keegan was promised investment but was lied to. I can't see him being any different here, and he's already said theres no money left. TRC
We would ship a lot of players out though. I'd imagine we could get 10 mill for Wijnaldum, 8m for Sissoko, the Cabella fee is agreed. Janmaat 5 mil. Looking at 25 million in the Championship, even more if we flog Shelvey, Perez and Mitro.

The College Dropout
Great point about the respect. Granted he's been shit for 4 months damn near every game. But had another manager dropped Wijnaldum for someone willing to put in extra graft some would complain.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
No money left? The club will be paid something like £80m TV money at the end of the season.
Dan Gleebals
Personally think he will stay whatever. Think he already has a strong affection/connection with the club and i think thats a massive factor for him. Hoping anyway.

The club 'backed' fucking McClaren with £80m this season. Something tells me if Rafa pulls this off he'll get what he wants within reason and Ashley will hope he just runs the entire club on his own. Wallace
If we get relegated and Rafa stays, I think the supporters will stay with the club - he leaves and we get some other hasbeen manager, the interest will drop. It would be in Ashley's interest to back him. NUFC needs Rafa more than Rafa needs NUFC.

Hope so mate. I surmised that the fat potato only invested so much to ensure we didn't go down and lost out on the extra prem money. Fail.
ToonTastic
No money left? The club will be paid something like £80m TV money at the end of the season. Isnt that money split over 3 years?
Teasy
That's the parachute payments after relegation (the money split over 3 seasons you're referring to). But whether we stay up or go down we're still due our £80m or so for being in the Premier League this season. Of course if we do go down we'd need to use that to help cushion the financial blow. Paully
Newcastle is a 'special club' - I expect Rafa Benitez to stay even if they go down, says Redknapp http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-special-club-expect-rafa-11244567#ICID=ios_ChronicleNewsApp_AppShare_Click_Other Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
