Get rid of Colo sign Amorbieta.

Makes no sense, Colo probably as good.

Colo's wages probably 5 times higher as well. Let's be honest, we need experienced backups for this team. We can't rely on just young guys defensively.

 Coloccini would have been fine in the Championship as a reserve. It just got to the point where him and the club weren't working any more.

There is talk on Twitter and on Sheffield United forums that we are signing Che Adams (with Toney possibly going on loan).

Highly rated IIRC. Remember his, horrific, name from watching the Shite Football Show on 5 last season.

Rico Henry from Walsall too.

Looked a bit like Ben Arfa. Impressive for a left back. Exciting player, yes please.

Henry has been known by many clubs for a few seasons. Not sure about Adams, I know he's allegedly a talent.

Newcastle United have named their price for Florian Thauvin – as they hunt for two more attack-minded players before the start of the season.

United are prepared to keep hold of Thauvin for next season if they do not get takers at their asking price of £12.5million – the value at which they have told Marseille to start bidding if they are serious about buying the player back.

Marseille submitted a loan proposal to Newcastle earlier in the summer but United will only countenance a temporary move if it comes with a clause similar to the one put in Remy Cabella’s contract. Cabella has re-joined Marseille permanently, even though no official confirmation has been forthcoming yet.

Newcastle are not interested in another year-long loan without a guarantee that he will move at the end of the season.

Although Lazio and Spurs have been linked with a move, Newcastle are prepared to keep the forward at St James’ Park for a season in the Championship if that’s what’s required.

He struggled to find his feet last season and was booed at Watford, a move that came after coaching staff became exasperated about his form and approach. But they have been impressed by his improvement since coming back to Tyneside and Benitez will certainly try to get the best out of him if he starts the season at United.

Newcastle still want to bring in at least two more attacking players to add to the defender that Benitez is looking to bring in. One would be a striker and there is also a desire to bring in another midfielder who could bring more goals to an engine room that would be shorn of them if Georginio Wijnaldum goes.
