Guest
Noticed he has a good knack of sneaking up on a player from behind and getting a toe on the ball to knock it to a team mate or gain possession. Noticed it a few times v Derby at least.
Newcastle Fan
Seems to be putting a lot more effort then he used to, good improvement.

Parsley
Who knew he was a much better CM than Colback? All is well that ends well eh? Went from a complete donkey at AMC to being the best CM on the park. Although I didn't think Colback played badly tonight tbf.

Shak
Up there with Gouffran against Villa as most undeserving goalscorer ever. Was fucking abysmal tonight.
Vinny Green Balls
Jason Lee was the master of that type of finish.
Alberto2005
Dreadful tonight, but has to play instead of Colback in midfield. He's never a no.10.
Stifler
He's managed to simultaneously score the worst and the best goal of the season.

ponsaelius
Get the cunt in central midfield. I'm sick of him playing as a failing quasi-centre forward. It's just pointless.
KaKa
An absolutely sublime touch The two mishits leading to his final mishit turned brilliant finish man. Just the most ridiculous sequence of foolishness leading to a goal
Newcastle Fan
He really works hard, his presence in midfield was such a fresh difference from Colback hiding and being pushed around.
Bimpy474
Far better in CM, needs to play there if he is in the side.

triggs
The game was so loose and there was so much space by the time he went in centre mid its hard to read anything into how he played there IMO
Nobody
So typical that he finally started finding form when he left for the AFCON, and then when he comes back he's at his worst again
Bimpy474
The game was so loose and there was so much space by the time he went in centre mid its hard to read anything into how he played there IMO While true if you put Colback in the same situation, i just think he's a far better option than Colback in CM how ever much space there is. ponsaelius
I know tropes about players can become boring forum mythology, but I really think he's being used completely wrongly. He's a languid midfielder who can put his foot on the ball and have the odd drive forward from central midfield. At #10/second striker he is easily marked out of games, lacks the control for tight spaces and doesn't hold the ball up. His goalscoring threat is also negated, because he's better striking from distance than playing back to goal and sniffing in and around the box. It's pissing me off including Colback in CM and accomodating Diame further forward in a position he's no good at. It's clearly because Colback is seen as a 'safe' holding option to compliment Shelvey. As if it's not possible to get away with two midfielders who's first thought is to play progressively. IMO - this is bollocks, you can completely get away with it at this level. Especially when the alternative offers so little technically, tactically and physically.
