triggs
Is it different rules with the keeper?
nufc4eva
Thought it looked harsh as well, but that's a clear red in the replays. Studs up in the goalkeepers face. He's looking at the ball all the way, never a red, just a challenge for the ball
Guest
Fuck off Neville. If Mitro's getting 3 matches for that, Mane is for that. Clear red card.
captainhaircut
Goalkeepers ludicrously protected. If they punch a striker in the head, they never get punished. Foot isn't even that high there. Keeper has ducked into it.
Guest firetotheworks
I'm really fucking sick of modern football like. The game's being ruined from so many angles.
Bimpy474
Thought it looked harsh as well, but that's a clear red in the replays. Studs up in the goalkeepers face. GK is an outfield player at the time though as he's trying to head it, would you give that as a red if it was a defender going to head it. Mane is only looking at the ball, if it is red it's extremely harsh.
sbnufc
Thought it looked harsh as well, but that's a clear red in the replays. Studs up in the goalkeepers face. He's looking at the ball all the way, never a red, just a challenge for the ball you can be looking at the ball "all the way" in a two footed lunge. It's still dangerous play and a clear red ffs Studs up direct into his cheek/neck

He's looking at the ball all the way, never a red, just a challenge for the ball Same applies for most free-kicks no? Players usually look at the ball when challenging. I mean he's high up with the studs and catches the goalkeepers face. At first it didn't look that bad, but it's studs up in someones face. Probably broke his jaw by the looks of it as well. SEMTEX
I'm fine with it being a yellow but there's no malice and it's a 50/50 ball. It's not like the ball was 10ft in the air either. Was there to be won.
Guest
If that happens on the halfway line do we say the game's gone soft?
geordie_b
Red all day long. He doesn't try and kick it, he leads with his studs. Its not like when John Terry was booted in the face in the League Cup final. Whether he has eyes on the ball or not doesnt matter, its dangerous play. Have a look at slides 26 and 27 in this FIFA presentation https://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/law_12_fouls_misconduct_en_47379.pdf EDIT that said, the directive below the those slides woudl suggest it shouldnt be a red
Flip
I don't think there's any malice to that whatsoever, but he is coming with studs very high straight into his face. Being stretchered out with oxygen. Come on. It's a clear red. If that was against us and Mane gets a yellow people would be livid.
