Watford & Palace upgrading their midfields while we sit with Hayden & Shelvey for the 6th season in a row.

Will Hughes would have been a cheap, very clear upgrade for us as well.

Also think £170million for a player out of contract next season is typically mental.

Real need the extra money from a Super League or they’ll go under, don’t you know? It’s grotesque quite frankly.

The PSG owners have all the money in the world. Why would they sell one of their best players to a CL rival even if he can walk for free next season?

Mbappe would be mad going there, they are on the decline, it’s not the best league really and if he wanted to really test himself he should join Stoke for Wednesday dark night matches in the rain.

In all seriousness, he should stay and learn from Messi, what an opportunity for any young player to play alongside him.

To be fair, Stoke right now for him would be a bit too early, maybe a few years in Madrid first will ready him for such a challenge.

Theres not really that many clubs Mbappe could actually sign for.

His fee and wages would rule out Italy and Germany I would think.

Of Spain and England, Barca, Real and Man City, Chelsea??

Chelsea have bought Lukaku, Man City are getting Cronaldo.

His choices are quite narrow

Surprised he doesn't want to give this season a go with Messi like.

An Mbappe, Neymar, Messi front three would be something else. Probably favourites for the CL.

Instead he'll got to Madrid, who have an outside chance of winning the CL. Guess being the main man/ego is more important than winning trophies.

When you’ve already won a World Cup at 17/18 years of age, the normal things footballers have to worry about don’t really apply.

PSG have all the money and will make a strong attempt at the CL this season but they are not and will never be one of the biggest clubs in the world. Qatar will realise this sooner or later too and look to start a new project imho..

Mbappe wants to go and break records at a club that will always be considered one of the biggest in the world. He’s made no secret of it either.

He's long held a desire to go to Madrid. As others have said he'll be the main man in the team and the league.

I think going for him now is a statement of intent from Madrid to the fans that they can still compete for signings even if it's more performative than real and they pick him up free next year.

I think he wants to test himself around a couple of leagues and teams and a new deal at PSG will likely trap him there (albeit insanely well compensated ).

There's not many clubs any of these top players can sign for. The only options are ever the same 5 or 6 clubs.
