Found his level. The hype for him was insane.

He’s way above Southampton like IMO even if he is likely to seal a third PL relegation.

If Uefa go down that path, as I always like to cite psg lost 600m euro in over 3 years and no ban.

Most sane people see the PL / UEFA as the rackets they are. Protecting their golden children and pissing on the rest.

If Arsenal need a backup keeper at short notice I'm sure we could help out.

Yeah, i totally understand why as well. But ultimately if a precedent is set and it becomes legal matter you will always have a good case.

Chelsea article unpaywalled

basically they’d be banned from Europe next season not this one

So you could potentially finish 6th and qualify for the Champions League if they're one of the top 5 and we have one of the best two co-efficients this season?

These punishments are utterly toothless.  What’s a year out of Europe if you can continue to spend at will? Has to be 5-10 years.

One poor season can do that for you anyway.

Uefa aren’t as draconian when it comes to punishments as the PL is. The rules are stupid to begin with.

At least UEFA are actually trying to close all these loopholes and stop teams taking the piss, basically in the PL if you are a big 6 club you can do what you want until UEFA get involved.

The pl clubs choose not to close this, they had the chance and declined, it’s on the teams.

Man Utd must be spending north of 200m this window, whilst NUFC can’t afford a RW due to “fairness” rules written by clubs like Man Utd

I respect Chelsea’s contempt for PSR and wish them the best in their legal fights

Aye, fingers crossed Chelsea come out of this alright. Would be devastating if the club that has done more to ruin football than any other club had to face some kind of consequences

Corrupt Oligarch ownership not even given a second thought, money laundering, huge debts for the club, massive inflation of player transfer fees, total abuse of the loan system, corrupt financial dealings to avoid PSR. You can say what you want about some of their efforts being “legal” but that’s mainly because they’ve had tons of money and regulators have been either too weak, or too poorly resourced to actual look at them. All their actions have worsened football as a product

We've sold £107m worth of players, most of them homegrown talent so good for PSR. We've spent £147m on Zirkzee, De Ligt, Mazraoui and Yoro.

Our net spend this window is roughly £40m.

Maresca's personality certainly suits Chelsea

I'm not sure I've seen an example of a manager being so cold about players who have done nothing wrong. His comments almost read like satire.
