They have an agreement with Emegha, who will join next summer from Strasbourg. Outside of Jackson, there are two other young strikers he will have to compete with. I don't want to criticize how they do things at Chelsea as it works for them, but it would be a mental decision for any young footballer to join them in the way they do things. Can you seriously rule out them purchasing another two young strikers by the end of next summer outside of the four they will have if all of their signings go through? You will play atleast 50 games next season. Isak wont start all of them. Even if Isak remains injury free throughout the season, Delap will organically get 10-15 games to start. Then you add the injuries and niggles to Isak. There are games in which Howe may prefer adding on two strikers. There are atleast six clubs in the PL, including Everton; Delap should consider joining before Chelsea. Good luck to him. I like him as a player. Any idea why your lot aren't looking at Gyokeres? Think he'd fit in very well in your team and the fee for him is really reasonable all things considered. Quite surprised he doesn't appear to be on your radar. MagPar Posted yesterday at 13:21 Share Posted yesterday at 13:21 Why would Barcelona want Rashford? He's nowhere near Barcelona standard. I don't get it,am I missing something?
Doctor Zaius Posted yesterday at 13:23 Share Posted yesterday at 13:23 Delap will fancy himself to start as the main man at Chelsea. He wont be here. He's simply not going to be second fiddle anywhere. He was never a realistic option for us. Finding a forward, who is good enough to come in and perform in the games we rotate, yet will accept that Isak will be the main man will be the hardest job of the summer. I think you're looking at a forward who hasnt played enough to command a starting spot anywhere, or a player who knows their ability isnt at Isaks level and is content with playing second fiddle. Beren Posted yesterday at 13:23 Share Posted yesterday at 13:23 Delap will be great for Chelsea sadly. Jackson playing for Chelsea has been brilliant for the rest of the league.
Sibierski Posted yesterday at 13:28 Share Posted yesterday at 13:28 He has some comedy moments, but Jackson underlying stats is pretty good for moving to a new league for a bat shit club and now having played under two managers. He'll go onto having a very good career IMO when he moves onto a European club this summer. Chelsea will splash big still on a striker. so it's pretty much a mute point saying he wouldn't start over Isak. Probably going to end up with Gyrokes at Chelsea by window shuts. That player could also be one who has passed his peak, without being a crock like Wilson. No I’m not talking about Vardy.

Stottie Posted yesterday at 13:53 Share Posted yesterday at 13:53 I think Jackson is pretty good and creates some chances by himself through his pace and strength. Here's a list of Chelsea's most expensive strikers from Transfermarkt. Lots of underachievement and unrealized potential here.

Ikon Posted yesterday at 13:56 Share Posted yesterday at 13:56 He’s good at some things and I wouldn’t have minded him here. Having said that, I’m not really bothered about him. Looks relatively limited as a player. Still young, mind. Biggest reason is the price and the difficulty/lack of options out there.
Sima Posted yesterday at 14:04 Share Posted yesterday at 14:04 I thought he looked good when we played Ipswich last month. Tireless in the press and quite tidy with his feet. I'd definitely take him but he won't want to sit on the bench.

Maybe Eddie can have a word and fluff Parish a little / throw Mitchell under the bus. Sign Guehi for a tenner and a handy.

Not sure why we are not looking at Gyokeres. Honestly, I am clueless about players other than those playing for Liverpool. We are linked to Ekitike, though. That link might have some truth to it. Edwards and the data nerds are running the show now. Staveley recruited some background Liverpool data nerds and performance analysts to your club. So, the fact that you were strongly linked to Ekitike in the past means that there is a good chance our data team is looking at the same information. I know we were looking at Bottman and Guimares, but you moved faster. In general, I know that when elite talent becomes available, Edwards and his team drop everything, focus on that player, go all in, and then figure out what the team needs with the remaining money. We did that with Van Dijk. We are currently doing that with Wirtz. We need a striker more than an attacking midfielder who operates in the left and center channels, but when Wirtz became available, they went all in. That is the message in the press. I guess we will get Kerkez, Frimpong, and Wirtz over the line, look at sales, and decide what to do about the striker position.
Ketsbaia Posted yesterday at 15:36 Share Posted yesterday at 15:36 Delap would have been canny but he's not one to get upset over. If anything, Chelsea settling for him over Gyokeres/Ekitike/Osimhen could be good news for us.
