But it will affect Jackson. Nkunku probably the best player they have in that role. Apart from Enzo their midfield is quite weak. For all the money they have spent they still got some to do.

Looking likely this is how they could lineup v Liverpool on the weekend. Definitely looks underwhelming

Kepa

James Silva Colwill Chilwell

Gallagher Enzo

Sterling Carney Mudryk

Jackson

They have a very good defence (on paper) but there are holes for sure.

He’s been playing and scoring in pre season. Might be a bit of wishful thinking that he doesn’t fit.

Was gonna say. He just scored 4.

He’s Harry Kane. Wherever he plays this year he’ll be fine.

West Ham spunking circa £115,000,000 on Maguire, McTominay and JWP would be simultaneously utterly abysmal and absolutely hilarious. Textbook definition of selling their crown jewel and replacing it with 3 from the Argos catalogue

Keeps them steady though and Moyes would happily score zero goals from open play if he could.

Uninspiring as fuck though and only McSauce is likely to get any better (and not really).

They are very dull, safe signings really. In fairness to JWP, he is a good fit for Moyes. He'll carve out a few wins from tight games through set pieces, 9 goals in a garbage season last year. Think Moyes will stink up the place but ultimately get 12th place or something.

All 3 kinda fit though. I get your point totally and no I wouldn’t want any of them here but looking at their strengths and weaknesses I think they will slot in well 🤷‍♂️

I just think losing Rice leaves a massive hole in the team and adding 3 adequate/reasonable players to the squad doesn't improve the first team at all. Fair enough they've bulked out the squad with mediocrity but they're way worse off without Rice imo, he was the heart of the club (cringy as fuck)

Don’t think you’re ever going to improve the team after losing Rice though. You’ve got money but you’re still West Ham.

It's a tough ask I'll admit

But it just seems so lazy to get a massive wedge of money and then just waste it on 3 such average, mediocre players to pad out a squad that's already average and mediocre. They've just made it bigger, not better. They could have bought an upgrade an CF, GK and maybe 1 other position maybe? Just feels like they've had £100m+ burning a hole in their pockets and felt the need to spend the lot before the month is out

Dunno like London club, big fanbase, just won a Euro cup and had a good run season before too. Probably the best chance they’ll have to replace people albeit Moyes is obviously hugely limited when it comes to type of players and football he wants to play.

Maguire, McTom, Bowen and JWP has the likings to make a strong British backbone. I'm curious to see how it'd worked out.

Back in the day that could get you 6th consistently.  But the coaching 1-8/9 has just evolved passed what Moyes can do on a regular basis.
