He said he would never take over Chelsea but he did. Plus, the rivalry between Liverpool and Everton has a bit of friendliness about it.

Not that I think he would leave, he'll definitely stick around until at least January-February time.

Fairly certain he called Everton in the press while he was Liverpool manager a small club. There's no reason why he'd break contract for them, he's looked much happier in press conferences and interviews so providing he knows that a takeover is going on behind the scenes there's no reason for him to leave.

Rafa obviously cares about Liverpool fans, but he's tough enough to be able to deal with any fall-out if he ever managed Everton, bear in mind LFC and Everton are not fierce rivals. I work there a lot and a customer for example, the husband will support Everton and his wife Liverpool. He is actually well respected by Evertonians. That said I would fear losing him more to Liverpool over Everton, even West Ham.

In Prem games alone it's 20 goals in 19 games. That's half a season - projected to 40 goals conceded across a whole season.

Bear in mind however that over half of the goals conceded (12) were with someone else's team and eight of those were in the first four games. In the subsequent 15 prem games we've only conceded 12 including Spurs (twice), Liverpool (twice) and Man City.

Brilliant stats really.

Give him a quality Striker, #10, LB and GK and I'd be ecstatic. Crazy how well we've done so far despite the lack of quality in so many positions.

The collective and tactics can take you far, but add some more quality to it and it could be even better :)

I love how ruthless he is, as well. Didn't start with Lascelles first game. Then just dropped Clark. And Mbemba is forever in the shadows. Man's a fucking giant of this game.

And you get the sense that the players just knuckle under and work even harder, no-one ever kicks his toys out. Look at Mitro, he's still delighted when the team win., wants to play and prove himself.

Man, can you believe it, we have a TEAM, all thank to Rafa; and despite the fat controller.

P19 W7 D6 L6. Averages out to 54 points. Upper mid-table at least.

54 is 8th last season and 9th prior to that. Incredible.

Aye, I've got to say I was dubious when Diame was coming on, but his response to recent events was top class.

And he's got those figures with a team pretty much doomed to relegation before he even came in, and a team just out of the Championship.

Three of those six defeats were in the first four games with someone else's demoralised team. Will be interesting to see how the stats stack up after we hit the more difficult fixtures in a couple of games time. We're currently 1-3-1 under Rafa against the top six.
