Wonder if the fat man would be interested in buying Blackpool.

There was mention of a club he could afford to run and him not walking away from football altogether.

The Blackpool owners won’t sell though.

In all honesty theirs not really anyone I wish him on. Fair enough lower down the leagues the ambitions will be smaller, but when an owner has no ambition then it doesn’t matter how small the clubs ambitions are, he’ll still not be willing to match them.

Oyston has put the club up for sale on Friday.

He lost his court battle with Belekon to amounts over 30million so im guessing he would use the purchase to pay out his charge.

Fair enough, I never knew that. Still though, the Blackpool fans have been through enough.

Pretty sure it's been shown it can be extended without that land

Yeap, the main hurdle which will make it completely unfeasible is that cost of it will likely to be £50m+ which for another 8k-9k seats makes no commercial sense unless we jack ticket prices up and demand outstrips supply.

The latest Etihad expansion had a cost of about £50m for about 7k new seats, the club mentioned that it would take almost ten years to recover the money but after that it was all profit. It did of course mean that there was extra space for corporate hospitality though..

There's no guarantee we would be able to sell another 8 to 9 thousand extra seats.

If we get substantial investment, shifting season tickets won't be a problem. Remember the waiting list when SBR was manager? 52k inside the ground with 10000 on a waiting list, IIRC.

The 52k expansion was to get rid of the ST list.  There were always ST's on public sale every season after that, another of those urban myth's going about.

A successful or even an NUFC with ambition could easily sell 8-10k extra seats. Look at the demand now, and that is with an expected relegation battle. A respectable manager getting the best out of poor and average players is all it took.

Finding it a bit early to get myself worried about where we're going to fit all the fans for our Champions League run

It doesn't need a fourth go in the Champions League, it just needs (as Stifler said just now)  . . . "an NUFC with ambition could easily sell 8-10k extra seats".

Ambition was specifically and coldly removed from NUFC some ten years ago.

Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners are rumored to have taken over Premier League club Newcastle United at £ 300 million from the original owner, Mike Ashley.

The Staveley-led group has been discussing with Mike Ashley after signing an undisclosed deal and has entered its due diligence to assess the club's finances.

It is now believed that PCP Partners estimated the value of Newcastle United worth £ 300 million and investment in players will be made when the agreement of both sides is successfully signed.

Report from the UAE reported Amanda Staveley wants all the dealings to be dealt with before December this year to give Rafa Benitez a chance to plan the player transfer strategy in early 2018.

The current owner, Mike Ashley stated that he will only sell the club to PCP Partners if the group is ready to bring Newcastle United to a higher level, and it is clear that Staveley will succeed in his efforts to buy United because of his promise to provide financial support to Rafa Benitez in the transfer window later.

Reports in the United Kingdom last week say that Staveley will channel £ 500m to Benitez in two upcoming transfer windows.

A situation where Newcastle United is able to afford the player he wants is easier than the current situation if Staveley is legally owner of the club.

"The experience I have will be fully utilized to deal with the takeover of this Premier League club," said Amanda Staveley.

Previously Staveley was involved in buying and selling to help Sheikh Mansour for taking over Manchester City in 2009.

Newcastle EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Staveley takeover to be confirmed this week

NEWCASTLE UNITED are expected to confirm the takeover of the club in the coming week.

Talk has been rife of Amanda Staveley's company, PCP Capital Partners, buying the North East outfit ever since the financier was spotted at St. James' Park earlier this season.

The investment company entered the process of due diligence at the club last month and wanted a deal finalised by Christmas, which matched the desires of current owner Mike Ashley.

And Starsport now understands the takeover will be announced this week.

The news will be welcomed by Newcastle fans, who have long sought-after a change in ownership.

Staveley is said to want the deal finalised by December in order to allow Rafa Benitez the chance to plan a transfer strategy for early 2018.

Last month, Starsport reported the businesswoman had met with Newcastle chiefs in London to discuss the takeover and that Benitez will receive upwards of £100m to spend when the transfer window rolls back around.

The club were said to be prioritising the need for a left-back, midfielder and forward.

Moves for Luke Shaw, Ross Barkley and former Magpies striker Andy Carroll were all discussed in the meeting.

Benitez has remained tight-lipped when it comes to takeover speculation but will no doubt be excited by the prospect of a transfer war chest.

Newcastle return to action when they take on Manchester United after the international break.
