Would PCP actually be a good owner for NUFC?

Recommended Posts

Get some Middle East architect to design us something really unique.

Most well known modern buildings in the Middle East have architects from outside the Middle East designing them. Norman Foster is a key architect over there.

Isn’t Norman Foster the bloke who spotted Perez?

Wooster, no?

Watching this interview back, I noticed when she refers to growth it can be applied to the potential of NUFC. She/PCP obviously recognise it and want to tap it.

Her eyes are all over the parish watching that vid. She's clearly a psychopath.

Reminds me of Amy from Kitchen Nightmares

 What a fucking episode that was.

What the actual fuck was that?

Remember the glee at the thought of a Billionaire taking over the club then what happened? money wasn't spent, hence thats why Billionaires are where they are and the rest of us are where we are. PCP could do exactly the same strip out an assets and spend minimil cash.

We got a rubbish billionaire though, PCP are in a different league.

PCP are only the facilitators no? Just because they have access to a massive fund or whatever doesn't mean we're getting it all [emoji38]

Ok all is forgiven fat lad.......please don't go.....

I'm merely pointing out that PCP aren't the money holders, they're not spending the £28bn they quoted as their own money. Pull yourself together.

Who in their right mind would think PCP would spend all their £28bn funds, or that we would expect them to? Only southern press and mischief makers think we want everything. Why do you state the obvious?

Refer to the post I quoted

That is what I'm referring to

Refer better

I cannot say whether they would be a good owner for us because we don’t know their intentions or what they will do for the club, but I can say with 100% certainty they will be a better owner than Mike Ashley has been and ever will be. I cannot see them appointing a low level casino boss as chairman or some low level accountant as MD. Likewise I cannot see them appointing a dinosaur like Kinnear or nothing managers like Pardew and McClaren. I couldn’t see them leaving a caretaker in charge for almost half a season risking relegation or spending less than 5m net per season on players.

I can see them perhaps changing the stadium name, increasing ticket prices, maximising commercial revenue and backing Rafa with enough money to make us a hell of a lot more competitive than we currently are.

I mean why but the club otherwise?

I personally would be dead set against the renaming of the stadium and even more so a new stadium so I’m hoping that won’t happen should we be taken over, regardless.

Going forward, although it would be nice to be able to compete with Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City et al for transfers, wages and players and to win the kind of trophies they have and do, all I really want from any new owner is for the club to be ran with ambition, sensibly and under a sustainable plan.

Back the manager accordingly, don’t do anything to damage the culture and identity or the history of the club and make qualified and sensible decisions.

If we can be run along the same lines as Spurs and Liverpool which we should be looking to at least get close to, I’ll be happy with that, and do you know what, there is no reason why we cannot.

Because we are so far behind, however, even to the likes of Southampton, the club will require major investment, especially in the academy, youth levels, coaching and facilities which again is something I’d like a new owner to do.

I’d rather we broke our record transfer fee on those areas and if we can do that and on a player or several then great.

Whoever buys us, if we get bought out, in Rafa they have someone who is more capable of running NUFC as a football club and as a business or organisation than anyone out there because he can build the academy up, the training facilities, the development team, the coaching structure and the first-team to world-class levels. The man has worked around the world and knows what it takes and more importantly how to implement and then achieve success. He’s a winner!

Let’s get it on...

If they take over and use the manchester city model, hopefully the cost of watching the toon will come down.

To be fair if fans kick off over an increase in prices given what they have paid for watching the shit unde Ashley it would be kind of shitty. I’d gladly pay a premium to watch winning football. For example KKs team, I’d pay good money to see that every week.

Like others I’d be willing to pay a 10-15% increase to watch successful football. However what you have to remember is that the North East is generally one of if not the poorest region in the UK and in Newcastle we have some pretty poor areas. Wages on average here are lower than pretty much elsewhere, so some people who love NUFC would not be able to swallow such an increase. This is where we will have to have some sort of affordable tickets. Ok these tickets maybe up at the back of level 7, but we will have to be mindful to have them on sale.

Pretty sure Man City do this anyway.

That sort of price structure would be reasonable imo.

All those people coming over, booking hotels, spending money in the city because the local football club is considered attractive. Awful stuff.

I can't believe anyone is worried about what might happen if this takeover prevails after the last ten years!

Two relegations (zero in the previous ten years); one top seven finish (four in the previous ten years); one campaign of European football (eight in the previous ten years); a policy of abandoning the FA Cup which resulted in a furthest progression of round five (two quarter finals, two semi finals and two finals in the previous ten years); renamed the ground to promote his tatty sports company for free; plastered 4,839,434 advertising billboards all around the ground to promote his tatty sports company for free; appointed numerous of his mates in senior level roles in which they had zero previous experience; appointed a spiv who had just been sacked by a third tier team to act as his mouth-piece and to constantly belittle the club and fans; appointed Joe effing Kinnear........twice; disgracefully treated NUFC legends Keegan and Shearer; successfully sued in court by two former NUFC employees as well as having another potential court case forthcoming from HMRC to name just several!

Bollocks to the "grass isn't always greener" patter.............HOWAY AMANDA!

Surely the last 10 years are very strong evidence that an owner you think is going to be good can actually turn out to be utter shit?

I obviously believe they'll be much better than Ashley, but the logic doesn't necessarily guarantee that.

[emoji38] would be amazing for the city, people and region as a whole. We should all be desperate for it to happen.

I'm pretty certain that they would be better owners, based on fuck all apart from knowing the current one. As well as what I've read about her as a business woman. Also, pretty ridiculous how many people on twitter seem to think that we'll definitely be spending like Man City/Chelsea have done if we get bought.

With Rafa at the helm, i'm confident we wouldn't have to in order to challenge for the top 6.  If we had a decent #10 and striker who could score we probably wouldn't be too far off that now, even with Manquillo in the team.

Realistically I reckon Rafa would want a keeper, a left back, #10, two strikers and a left winger and I think he'd keep faith with the rest of the current players. That wouldn't take Man City-level spending.

I’d be dead set against a new stadium, to lose 125 years history of SJP for what, an extra 10K seats or something? No thanks. We have a great stadium, a beautiful stadium that just needs some modernising. If we can’t expand it so be it. As for the atmosphere, the shape of the stadium doesn’t help, but at its best, there is nothing comparable in England in terms of passion and noise so it’s not exactly a problem. Give the fans a winning team and the atmosphere will be rocking. To be fair, it’s not been bad under Rafa, probably the best it’s been since Sir Bobby’s time here and in many ways even better thanks to the flag displays and general backing of the team given how average the team actually is. Mind, that’s thanks to Rafa who has become a figurehead of the club we all love, respect and trust, even when things are not going so well.

A new stadium would cost 300m or more, which is false economy given we already have a world-class stadium in an enviable location that is the heart beat of the city on a match day. Tap into that and build on it I say. I’m sure we can expand the stadium anyway, and it wouldn’t cost anywhere near as much as a new stadium.

Back to any new would be owners, it’s a must that facilities are improved because we are almost amateur compared to others in that regard when it comes to training, coaching, player development, scouting etc.

I do love the foundation though, it does some great work and is an area of the club that also needs to be invested in regularly.
