Guest
Thought he did alright, expect better on Saturday. Was a shite Perez pass away from a goal.
Skeletor
Don't really know what to think of him. He has had flashes in his cameos but was very underwhelming today. Plus he's not young if we're thinking long term.
Mikky
Thought he did alright, expect better on Saturday. Was a shite Perez pass away from a goal. This Best 3 crosses (2 from Kenedy) of the match and he was on the bench
xLiaaamx
Expect he'll be back on the bench at the weekend.
Guest firetotheworks
He fits the profile of what we need, but he had a poor game. Not really much to say beyond that really.

Yorkie
One nice touch in the first half, absolute rubbish for the rest. Hope he's better against West Brom but also meh. We didn't need him in the end.
Newcastle Fan
He needed that 60 minutes today as he hardly played in the last few month, he will get sharper and fitter.
Disco
He was what Gayle has been but with added hold ball up. Such a shame the evil powderpuff Spaniard didn’t set him free for gols, gols, gols.
Altamullan
Looked confident and capable. A bit more time to get on the same wavelength and a better quality final ball to him (and from him, more consistently) and I think he’ll improve us.

Elliottman
Thought he was really poor in the second half Yeah I don't think he had a great game, that said lack of football, first start etc Cant be critical, he needs a run of games.
HaydnNUFC
Didn't get anything that could be remotely described as service last night, though his slackness that led to the goal was s****.
Figures 1-0 Football
Was infuriating that he didn’t get any service all game and the second we take him off we start putting 3 or 4 delicious balls into the box. The last 10 minutes in particular were frustrating, we had nobody in the box anywhere near the ball when it was going in.
Jimburst
Aye, I thought he was isolated most of the match. Looked a willing runner and seems to have good technique.
mrmojorisin75
he's surprisingly good at running with the ball at defenders actually, didn't expect it

nufcjmc
Whilst it is harsh to judge such few and short run outs. The try before you buy may have helped us especially as i dont think he is out 20millions plus player answer to our problems based on age and fee and likely wages. tmonkey
Given the age + recent injury problems + cost (wages/transfer fee), I'd argue it's too risky to spend good money on him imo. At this point in time he looks like the type of well rounded target man who looks superior to our alternative options, but one that you should only really consider if very cheap or on a free transfer. Mark Viduka would be a good example of this, good striker who many clubs didn't want to go near because of injuries, age, cost. Also not sure about his general effort levels. Can't quite tell if he's knackered due to poor fitness or at times lazy. Seems to be very selective about when he's going to bother trying to close defenders down, sometimes he'll go full throttle but the majority of the time he's just standing there staring. Hadn't seen him much at Leicester, but do vaguely remember seeing him standing around instead of chasing defenders down. Not saying that I want a workhorse type who chases after the ball like a dog and then has no energy for things like counter attacks etc, but at this level it's common for strikers to do at least something to help out, even if it's moving casually towards the defender. It's definitely more noticeable with the likes of Slimani when they're completely stationery and giving defenders all the time in the world to pick out a pass. Kanji
His first start for us coincided with a pretty sloppy display overall. Start him again this weekend.

Why do you think Chelsea only gave Giroud an 18 month contract?

Who would be our £20million plus player answer to our problems? I was thinking last night, if we don't buy this guy it will be hard to get someone with similar attributes for that sort of money.
