The College Dropout
He understands the position so well. He knows when to sit in and let a Bruno go forward. He makes those runs to support the striker well. When he actually gets the ball…
nemtizz
If only he was good with the ball at his feet. He takes up such great positions in the final third. Edited September 16, 2023 by nemtizz

Geordie Ahmed
His energy was really good but he was really sloppy Two big moments where he messed up and set them off on a counter, fortunately we didn't get punished for it Maybe it's due to him getting up to speed with things because I remember last season him starting this way, he then improved and didn't dally on the ball so much

Andy84
He clearly needs to play 5 games on the spin to get up to speed. Think he’ll play all of the PL games moving forward
McCormick
He’s seemingly really coachable and has a great understanding of his role within a system. It’s why he’s largely looked good under Rafa and Eddie; his awareness kind of makes up for his relative lack of ability.

We were better against Villa when he didn't play and we won 5-1. Nowt against Longstaff as I thought he was canny but I think he gets overhyped when he's not playing far too much. Displayname
We werent impressive by any means and Longstaff made several individual mistakes, one nearly cost us the win
STM
To be fair, last season he was waaaaaaay better with the ball than he was the year before. Perhaps we trust him and Eddie to get him back to his best? We know he's not as good as Tonali on the ball but Longstaff is still vital to our success. We will need both. M1tche
Sharpness on the ball was understandably off, about 70 mins in I was hoping Tonali would come on, just so we could get control of the game on the ball. That said, his forward movement, energy and breaking up of play was what we have been missing the last few games.

We wouldn’t have won if it wasn’t for his engine imo. Agree with this. Poor team performance he was probably our best til tiring. Wilson motm was a bit weird. Token one cos he scored
NUFC
Seems to have the concentration of a 5 year old mind, he gave the ball away far too often. Thought him and Anderson were poor in midfield
Newcastle Fan
Had that one went in!! he had his shaky moments but also worked very hard and almost won us the game stopping that attacking then getting a chance of his own, again our midfield looks better with him in it. He was certainly better than "superstar" Guimares.
DubblyDubblyDubbly
Graft 100%, breaking up play 98%, creativity 20%, finishing 0.001%. He does the job he's been asked to do.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I think we all know who's having a "hissy fit".
