After living in Derby for 2 years and in my final year there now, I've never met any Derby fans with those views about us. At all.

Funnily enough, there's a few Leicester lads I'm mates with and they fully get why Ashley's a cunt, even before they met me. Knew about the asset stripping, constant relegation battles from where we were, et cetera.

Seems people who perpetuate those myths seem to only exist online for whatever reason.

The bloke has absolutely no football acumen and neither have any of the people he has appointed to roles at the club. How's he gonna improve a Championship club?

Both times we got out of the Championship we had a wagebill akin to a mid table PL club and the second time we had a CL winning manager. Bouncing back was just highlighting the atrocious mismanagement in the first place.

Honestly man, the way outsiders view Ashley is fucking comical

I find it so fucking weird: fans of other clubs proclaiming so confidently and aggressively that other fans have no right to complain about their respective situations. As if they could relate in any way. For instance (completely hypothetically) if a Southampton fan came on here and said they couldn't stand Haasnhuttl, I'd be surprised and intrigued but the absolute last thing that would enter my head would be "hahaha what an entitled and clueless idiot, Saints fans don't know they're born;" I'd just assume they'd have some logical and potentially justified reason for the opinion, because how could I possibly know any better?

Absolutely bizarre. I went on Grand Old Team a few weeks ago and got told Ashley was the best thing to ever happen to us and we should all give our heads a shake. I mean, what? What do you know, you divvy?

Tell them he sold off club land for his son in law to build on

Tell them about the piss poor signings including those scouted via youtube

Tell them about hiring Joe Kinear - not just once.

Tell them about the dead pidgeons

Tell them about the complete and utter lack of communication

Tell them about the lack of DD when he bought the club

Tell them about Keegans employment tribunal

Tell them how he and the club treat a player diagnosed with cancer

Tell them about how he undermines managers

Tell them how he appointed a casino manager to run the club

Tell them about the SD advertising how how much NUFC made from it

Tell them about HMRC raiding the stadium

Tell them how much experience Charnley had when he was appointed gaffer

Tell them how Charley answered to Justin Barnes

To the unreliable, outside eye he’s relatively alright. As sad as it is for most the population he is a king.

Lonsdale slipons, huge flapping jeans, rancid politics and significantly bald hairline complimented by a pure bald ideology. He is the billionaire everyman.

TBF if your club is on its knees you’d take owt.

I wouldn't.

I'd rather go bust and start again in league 6 with a fan backed club, well run and full of hope.

Much better than 13 or 14 years of nowt.

Derby should run a mile from this high street, zero hour, greedy twat.

If that's their attitude then good luck to them. Just don't moan when you hate your life later.

What did Jesus mean when he said forgive them for they know not what they do?

Definition: Don't be angry at someone for doing something bad if they are ignorant and don't know what they are doing is wrong, or if they don't know a better way to do something.

Reminds me of when we tried to warn the Palace forum about Pardew, got told to fuck off and then they all ended up absolutely hating him, as expected. ?

I remember bumping into a couple of Palace fans in the Tyne Bar not long after he became their manager. They couldn't fathom why we hated him so much, so I explained it to them. They still thought I was being unreasonable, so I told them exactly what would happen during his time there and they told me I was mental. :smugdog:

Bottom line is: its irrelevant how great or bad they think he is. Waste of time trying to educate them. They will have no say in whether he buys them or not, because that's upto their current owner/board.

Unless, of course, Derby are fan owned :dontknow:

A couple of them seemed to get it tbf. Ah well.

Tbf, Derby fans will probably compare Ashley to their current owners who have obviously ballsed things up big time. Neither will they have the expectations Newcastle fans had when Ashley took over as we had been a CL club not long before his takeover. If and when they get promoted, and expectations rise it would be a different story as obviously Ashley is never going to want to invest seriously. Right now though, Big Mike is probably a great option for them.
