Saves on compensation, will be as equally unwelcome by the fans and they'd do a job of equal quality as any of the other shit managers Ashley would consider employing. Obviously, people who follow football intently enough to post on forums like this will probably look at his managerial record and be ambivalent or worse (depending on their affection for rafa), but this clearly seems a move to placate supporters. The American Eddie Howe on the coaching staff I'm suspicious that this Dean Jones guy knows something, and Anthony Hudson is who they've wanted all along. Think they have identified him for the 'Head coach' role, and specifically as the person who they believe can work with and coach up the young players they want to bring in. The idea since has been to then bring in a more senior figurehead to manage things generally as more of a sporting/technical director. Essentially the everyday face with the experience that then provides support to the head coach. Think they wanted Wenger for this role originally, and have now possible settled for Steve Bruce for this sort of role.
