Martin Hardy from the Times reckons he's lost patience with the players who have been telling him they want to play 3 at the back, and he's claiming he wants to go 4-4-2. He's blaming them for the defeats against Brentford and Sheffield in effect, although even if you believe his version, it just shows how indecisive he is. You're the manager you pillock, it's your job to decide formations. He must have lost quite a few of the players so tomorrow's team sheet should be interesting.

Sounds great. A manager in total control.

The game is on Monday.

Ah ok. Just shows how much interest I'm taking in the games these days, not even bothering to check the dates of the games.

Quite interesting that he's started being more open about deflecting blame onto players. He's obviously got to the stage where being best mates and a soft touch has worn off, and the players are now thinking fuck this fat mess, he doesn't have a clue. He's now showing his true colours where the need of the hour is to protect himself and if that means throwing players under the bus so be it.

Yep - my feeling is that the players were probably very welcoming of the break from Rafa's detail orientated sessions. That initial relief has now worn off to 'what, the actual fuck are we doing here?' and he's got no reply.

He's a glorified PE Teacher the bloke.

This was always on the cards.

BT Sport have a question up for discussion right now on their show - Who is the best current English manager? Surprise surprise, even though Sutton and Savage are on the show, none of the panel have picked the mastermind of the two false no.10.

Sutton actually chose Woy Hodgson because he keeps Palace in the PL every season even though he is not everyone's cup of tea. To be fair, Savage actually pulled him up on his choice. Sutton also was in a debate with the host of the show insisting Celtic have a reserve team out today, so should not be expected to beat mighty Livingston. An absolute pillock of a pundit.

Harsh on PE teachers. They have plans.

Fair point, well made. I stand corrected.

It's pretty fucking obvious, isn't it? Sack Bruce or go down. That's what we need to choose between. Why the prevarication, I've no idea. Just fucking do it?

The alternative is abundantly clear to anyone with even one half-functioning eye, and every day we wait means the new person has less time to turn it round and will inherit a worse predicament to escape from.

I’d also love to know why journalists don’t just ask the cunt: ‘Steve, there’s been no plan and no identity in style of play and no sign of you actually wanting to win a football match. Can you fucking explain that?’

Rattled

Looks like he’s ready to cry. This pressure is nothing, we don’t even have crowds. Remember in pre Ashley days when fans would congregate round the entrance rod at janrs’ park to protest whatever the issue was at the time? Remember when we made Pardew cry? He’s lucky.

See the look of disgust and anger on his face, after interrupting the question, that the sub-human reporter/human had the brass neck to try and finish his sentence and the question. Like it was beyond rude not to shut up the second Bruce butted in.

I don't have an account. What thre sentence/paragraph that refers to the optional training ?

“Given Bruce’s stern post-match rhetoric, some players were taken by surprise when the next day’s warm-down session remained “optional”.

I think we all know who wants more days off and easy training too!

“There are the usual training-ground gripes at Newcastle. Players out of the team are never happy. Some players want more days off, some want less, some want training to be focused, to train with a purpose, others prefer a lighter touch.l

wouldnt have heard a squeak out of any of them under Rafa.

Keown:

Former Arsenal and England defender Martin Keown has issued a brutal response to Steve Bruce's recent comments about his Newcastle United players.

Bruce has come under pressure after Newcastle's recent slide in form culminated in a damaging defeat to rock-bottom Sheffield United on Tuesday evening.

In an extraordinary press conference, Bruce said he side were 'absolutely s****' against Sheffield United and the Magpies' head coach warned his players that the 'gloves are off' as he looks to do things 'his way' from now on.

Newcastle travel to Arsenal on Monday looking to reverse a run of eight matches without a win, scoring just one goal from open play in that time.

And Premier League winner Keown believes Bruce can't 'detach himself' from his side's woeful form, suggesting Newcastle are now a club 'going to war'.

"Being cynical, he has been there 18 months so whose way was he doing it before?" Keown told BBC One's Football Focus.

"He has been the manager and he can't detach himself from that.

"But he is calling out the players, that is the style of management he wants to bring in and he is under real pressure now. That is not going to change.

"It will be interesting to see what the performances are like from here on in, but they are going to war there."

Finally a pundit calling him out on his bullshit, sort of.

He basically inherited an incredibly well drilled team from Rafa. Made claims of wanting to be more attacking and then kept reverting back to Rafas 3 cb formation but an even more defensive version of it with Shelvey brought back in. Because he was unable to coach any other gamelan or formation himself.

Got through last year off the back of us being hard to break down and ASM being the unique talent he is.

Then eventually the Rafa drills wear off as I assume the training is absolutely tragic.
