Wasn't it a sticking point for Rafa? £40m or whatever it was for a player without a position and has never had a great goal record. Who looks slow, uninterested, poor in front of goal and erratic on the ball. He plays nice passes now and then and sometimes his link up play and control in tight areas is fairly good. But you'd be expecting a similar contribution from a £5m-10m player, or someone half decent that has come through the academy. He is pretty crap. Joelinton just came from complete leftfield. even online lazy scouting at the time suggested he as never a £40m player or one that we even needed.
