Amazon Prime will make Premier League games free to air

Amazon Prime will make its four Premier League games free to air when the season restarts.

Fans will not need a Prime membership to watch fixtures on the online streaming service when the top-flight campaign resumes from 17 June.

Every one of the remaining 92 Premier League games will be broadcast live across Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport or Amazon Prime.

In total, 33 of those matches will be free to air.

Alex Green, managing director of Prime Video Sport Europe, said: "Like the rest of the country, we are excited to see the Premier League return to action.

"We will be making all four of Amazon Prime Video's additional fixtures in the 2019-20 season available free of charge; fans will not need a Prime membership to view the games on Prime Video."

In May, it was announced that four Premier League games will be broadcast, free to air, live on BBC Sport when the season resumes.

It will be the first time the BBC has shown live Premier League matches, and the first time the broadcaster has shown any live top-flight football since 1988.

Sky Sports will make 25 of the remaining top-flight matches free to air, including the Merseyside derby on the first weekend after the resumption - 19-21 June.

Just seen footage of Porto last night. Hundreds gathered with flares outside of the ground. That’s definitely going to be a problem over here.

Benefits the bigger clubs.

Was voted 16-4 so that suggests a big majority agree it benefits everyone. Given it's designed presumably to protect players from the effects of a rushed schedule in the warmest part of the year at the most intense part of the season, I'd say it's a good move.

I think the 5 man sub thing is fine for the rest of this season but don't want it to become a permanent thing

It's one of those things that could just stick, imo.

yeah think the same, its a decent response to an unusual situation, now having 9 subs on the bench doesn't sound a bad idea to have long term

Aye. Won’t make the slightest bit of difference with the shite we’ve got on the bench.

It would if/when players pull up with niggles due to lack of match fitness/preparedness and under normal rules would involve players carrying on injured (happened already this season) or playing with 10 men.

Agree with the point that looking past our 11 (which isnt that great to begin with) you havent exactly got 30/40/50 million pound players sitting on the bench like chelsea/man city etc

Saves us on a couple of ball boys though.
