If the refs were that good at spotting faking players, a) we wouldn't need VAR and b) Maddison wouldn't have had a penalty against us. 

Refs should err on the side of caution in regards to head injuries.

My point was to agree with you and the frustration with inconsistent officiating. Both incidents are either worthy of stopping play or neither of them are, not one or the other.
