I dont pay much attention to scores anymore as my interest has been pretty much killed, but surely it should of gone to Tuchel for making Chelsea good again, or Pep for actually winning the league? To be fair, Tuchel got pumped 5-2 by now-relegated West Brom in April. Our results in April were good (unbeaten with two draws with Liverpool and Spurs and two wins from West Ham and Burnley) it’d probably be a reasonable decision if he wasn’t so detestable. It's just that there's such an obviously better candidate in Bielsa whose results, collectively, were objectively better. Won at Man City with ten men ffs. Meanwhile we turned a certain defeat into a victory against Burnley by substitution ASM onto the pitch, and got an admittedly good result against West Ham days later. Drawing at home to a terrible Tottenham side and getting a point at Anfield are completely unremarkable results. I guess the argument is that it pulled us clear from the drop, but we could've lost all four and still our heads would've been above water. Meh, whatever. This is NUFC now. Making up for lost time after not being involved in 96% of the games in his football career. Yorkie
Anyway, this crap about him never having his best team out, yada yada yada; no one will deny the effect ASM has on the side, and you can pinpoint our recent change in fortunes to the literal moment he re-entered the pitch after a spell on the sidelines. But despite key absences, Bruce has had full access to talented players who are more then capable of getting results, as well as admittedly less talented players he either: chose himself, endorsed, or waxes lyrical about despite their obvious limitations. As usual, he says whatever suits his self-preserving agenda. The line about injuries is, like everything else, exaggerated bullshit masking his own inabilities. The reality is, he's had at least two of the 'big three' attackers to choose from on no fewer than thirty occasions this season, and still we've lumbered through, unimpressive throughout and seemingly avoiding points and goals at all costs. W9 D7 L14 is the record when at least two of the three have been available. That's not factoring in £40m-worth of Joelinton he was happy to accept, or Carroll/Fraser that he chose. Or Gayle, who he thinks is class.
James
So far I’ve seen ASM, Wilson, Willock, Dubravka, Jones, Rafa and Richard Masters credited for his award.
