Mistle17
We wont go down, but I genuinely couldn't give a fuck if we do. What difference does it make?
Guest ElCid
I can see better performances than at the start of the season, and the potential to win enough games. We could easily have kept a clean sheet today FWIW. But we didn't we conceded 3 - sorry just don't get your point I can agree that as an attacking unit we have improved but in the last 4 games we have conceded 13 and even in the Norwich game we were lucky to only concede 2. Doesn't matter what whilst you continue to concede goals at the rate we are then you're going to struggle to win matches. With the defenders we have at this club that is just not going to change and the fact that they were not replaced is a damning fault of the board. Gallowgate Toon
Colo, Colback and Wijnaldum all had chances in the first half. The mackems are OK at sitting back, tbh, think we'd have pushed on in the second half.

You maybe right but the point I'm stating is our defense is an accident waiting to happen and 9 times out of 10 it will - all 3 goals were terrible defensively against a team who basically are total shit yet we still press the self destruct button time after time and you just can't keep doing that and I'm totally gobsmacked how some are still saying we will be ok no problem - 22 fucking goals in 10 games man you cannot keep doing that to win matches. Yorkie
I wouldn't say we 'didn't look like scoring' at all, tbh. Colback had a couple of very decent chances; Gini linked up with Mitro for an effort from outside the box, Mitrovic had half a chance with a header too. None of them were out-and-out scoring chances but you'd expect at least one to be converted. I go round in circles with the relegation question. Some weeks I think we'll definitely be fine and others I think we're destined for nowhere other than the drop. Honestly don't know tbh.
Ronaldo
We're 19th after 10 games and have our only decent GK out for the season. That should answer your question.

maze
Scoring more goals than your opponent wins you matches. We rarely even score. So go figure. 10 games have been played.
Ketsbaia
We were fine today, the only problem is that it brings the mackems right back into it. But we're a good team.
Ronaldo
Nope. How about the fact you don't get points for keeping the ball, then? Or that we have the worst defence in the league and haven't scored in half our games? The writing's on the wall. Without investment we're down and out. Ronaldo
Any that disregards the goalkeeper, the defence, the midfield and aspects of the attack. We're quality apart from that.

They mostly do. We know there were extenuating circumstances today. Even the shite team of the past 5 derbies stayed up.
Ronaldo
Did they have 6 points after 10 games?
Ketsbaia
Did they have 6 points after 10 games? No, but did they face 6 of last year's top 8 in their first 8? Plus West Ham, who seem to be beating everyone. I'm not saying we're going to crack the top 10, just that we've had the toughest start out of everyone and that we're starting to improve. If we mess up this good run of fixtures, then it's time to panic.
Guest chopey
The happiest thing about this weekends games is that I have watched both Sunderland and Palace and I can honestly see them both going down

midds
The run of fixtures from now til Xmas is huge. don't want to put a number on it atm but the next 7 or 8 games will decide which division we play in next year.
Mistle17
We'll be ok but our season is very quickly turning into another one of nothingness and a pointless existence.
Disco
Suspect the bottom five are locked in now, maybe one more to join but hard to see who. Thankfully after last weeks win we're not adrift too far but it looks bleak. Thought the one thing that McClaren would improve would be the defence, how wrong I was. It was shit, now it's worse. ExiledGeordie
A proper goalkeeper, centre half and probably another goal scorer are needed to keep us up
cp40
I always believe around this time of the season you can add 6 points to your total and look at where that would get you- as there is easily realistically enough games to gain 2 more wins than anyone around you. Of course that works the other way, dont even need to look at what -6 points would do.

If we're still in the bottom 3 at the end of next month, Ashley will have to take action if we are to survive. Either a change in management or a few January panic buys. Have to say I wish I could be as optimistic as the "we'll be OK" fans. I've not seen any evidence to suggest we won't be fighting relegation all season. Few teams have looked as bad as us.
