I get that we're nervous at how long it's taking, the recent silence and the general rule to assume the worst. But logically, it should be more likely than unlikely. Don't confuse me with the extreme optimism either - I just don't see any major obstacles from recent weeks. Possibly relegation but enough sources have said that won't put them off either. I haven't kept up to date with either takeover thread, any of the latest news about Khashoggi or BEIN, none of it. They pulled out in August but there's this arbitration stuff bubbling away in the background. I've just not got a clue what its aims are or what it will achieve. Someone could correct me though and I'd have voted yes if I was privy to the craic. Want it to happen in spite of the notions of being owned practically of the state of the KSA, just want Ashley gone. I would like to see it happen though. A holistic approach to improving the clubs infrastructure and the surrounding areas is, of course, very appealing. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity who's time has passed. I'd happily be wrong though.. I'd give the American with the "Red Bull" approach a shout . If all the Reubens could be convinced to get involved we could be in a good position but it’s not looking that way. Honestly think Staveleys part in this story is done now. We’ve been in this position with Mike Ashley before, I think last summer he was interested again, maybe just to spite Rafa but he got burned on the Joelinton thing which reaffirmed his beliefs that spending big money in football is a fools game so he’s reverted to type now. He’ll always take advice when it comes to this club from the wrong people, he’ll never appreciate the ones who would steer him in the right direction. Why would you assume an alternative buyer would run the club as badly as Ashley? There are 19 other clubs in the league and near enough all of them are ran better than ours. That was the end of the club under MA right there. Once Rafa came in and was allowed to get rid of Carr but was then not backed, and instead forced out, we were back to no marks like Kinnear, Pardew, which meant Bruce coming in.
