What incentive would a second buyer now have for beating the price of the old one now that the PIF have fucked off?  I guess if Mauriss is bidding with fake money he doesn't have and can't actually transfer he might as well bid £600m. If, of course, Ashley really did stall it out until deals expired to get a better price.

Massive victory for Penn and Richard Keys. We have been put back in our place and Steve Bruce will be bouncing over to top 6 club managers next season to congratulate them on being so fabulous.

It's not about some forum victory you goofball - it was pure, blind, uncritical optimism to think this deal was ever getting approved. Saudis vs Qataris and you think the PL are siding with the group that have stolen from them on an industrial scale over the side that's put hundreds of millions in their pockets? Time for some on here to reflect why they couldn't see what was staring them in the face.

So deal expired with Mike.

Mike said, pay me more.

PIF said no.

The league basically allowing this all to happen by taking an absolute eternity to approve the deal; in the end, they never had to.

Exactly this.

If the PL did there job promptly this would've been done.

Also shows Caulkin knew f*** all about 'exclusivity' or drop dead dates.

This aligns well.

If Ashley figures he could get more then this dragging on and him pocketing both the deposit and the chance to sell for a higher price pays perfectly into his hands.

Aye hence how fucking ludicrous it always was getting the fucking potential buyers to send shit via Barnes and Ashley FFS!

Total conflict of interest.

Really got to hand it to Bishop on this one, hooked a lot of people. Just ... what can you say when you're up against a world class puppetmaster like that? *slow, standing clap alone in apartment*

Don't think there will be a load of buyers for football clubs in the present climate, certainly not at inflated prices. I mean fake bids from your US mates is another thing but...

DON'T GIVE A SINGLE FUCK ABOUT THE PL AND THEIR BROADCASTING DEAL WITH BLOODY BEIN SPORTS.

So fuck off Penn. Fuck off Simon Bird. Fuck off to anyone else who will spout that fucking nonsense on twitter or news or radio.

MA finally gave up and was ready to sell, the LEAGUE dragged a deal on beyond the exclusivity period, and their apparent fit & proper owner in MA jointly fucked over this club's fans and the region.

What a fucking sad shit defeatist club we are.
