David Edgar
I do think we can discuss this like adults Two games in a row we've looked predictable and stilted in attack. We've barely scored in 5 league games (or something like that). Time to bring in one of Isak or ASM from the start to add an extra thing for opponents to worry about. Vinny Green Balls
Howe seems to like to stick to his policy of easing players in. I am sure he is doing the same with Isaak. It’s worked pretty well so far. This is exactly the same as right before our purple patch. The real issue is we need more creativity in the side to break down teams who don’t want to play. We don’t have that yet, but we are way ahead of schedule.
Pilko
Can see why he's maybe slightly concerned about Wood moving. We have a bench where 5/9 options will never, ever see the pitch unless there's an injury or total emergency. Anderson and Murphy are only trusted for 10 min max cameos. So you basically have Maxi and then Wilson/Isak as options when teams sit deep and frustrate us. Maxi is usually ineffective when there's minimal space behind the backline. The options to change it are so so limited and making 1-2 quality additions this window would turn some of these draws into wins IMO.
SUPERTOON
Thought he left the subs a bit too long tonight, he could of course be thinking about Tuesday night where isak and ASM will likely start.
Vinny Green Balls
We concede a goal every two games from a coach who allegedly couldn’t organize a defense before us. Howe’s tactics are not the problem.

Needs a few new attacking players to actually give him real options. All well and good bringing on ASM and Isak, but that's literally it and even ASM doesn't really score goals. SiLvOR
Would have loved to see that 4-4-2 again tonight. But Wilson was having a fairly shit game, so can understand why we didn't go for that. Think Eddie is very limited by his options, but I'd hope to see a different line up Tuesday (ASM and Isak starting with Bruno feeding them).
Jesse Pinkman
Howe needs to change it up and be more pragmatic. Teams have adapted and worked out how to play against us.
Vinny Green Balls
Usually the ideal first step in reorganization is making yourselves nearly impossible to beat. We have succeeded more than just admirably in this first phase, with one loss in 20 games.
Vinny Green Balls
Interesting that his defensive record was what a fair few complained about at first. We are so far ahead of what I expected that it’s just ridiculous. But there is a good opportunity this window to accelerate the process even more. midds
Absolutely nothing wrong with the line-up, formation or subs tonight. Went down there and dominated possession, created a handful of chances and the keeper only had 1 save to make all night. The manager couldn't have done anymore but it just didn't go in, the headers we had were a bit weak and Palace hung on and made it difficult, I get the frustration but games like tonight are going to happen and they shouldn't be used as a stick to beat Howe with, that's outrageous tbph

PauloGeordio
“Difficult game but we played well,” 45-year-old said. “We got into dangerous positions and created chances. We had moments in both halves; if there was a team that was going to win it, I thought it would be us, but we had to credit Nick Pope for a great save. He didn’t have a lot to do today. He’s been great since he came in and we see that in training every day. “The changing room is disappointed we didn’t win. We wanted more control in the second half; there were moments the ball flashed across the box and nobody was on the end of it. There are things to improve for us, but we are seeing continued improvement. We are not firing as much as we’d like, but we are working on that.” our gaffa! The College Dropout
It’s too predictable. Multiple rival managers have foreseen and mitigated the inevitable Maxi substitution. we’ve scored 1 goal in 4 games. We’ve not scored a goal with that line-up/formation since Boxing Day. Waited too long. Top teams don’t wait until the last 20 minutes to go for it. Even then today he didn’t play both our strikers. We have nobody that operates in that 10 space. That Odegaard role. And we lack quality from wide which we rely on. It’s a fine balance. This XI hasn’t conceded many and has kept clean sheets in all of those games. Because everyone is hard working and capable runners. But it lacks finesse and it shows. Edited January 21, 2023 by The College Dropout
