Apparently he was on the list to become manager had the takeover gone through previously, and was later linked with Tottenham though that didn't go through in the end either. You do not want to start off with an average manager and struggle before appointing the big name you should have gotten the first time round. A week ago I’d have licked a cats poo in the garden for either of them. It’s going to take me a while to recognise we’re not shopping from the bins anymore.
