Gullit was attacking, just not very good here. Really good spell when he first came in with Glass & Solano on the wings.

That was a time when team managers controlled everything though, those times have now gone with DOF/SD now controlling everything

Roeder was instantly more attacking and a big improvement on his predecesssor.

His predecessor was Souness though so could easily have generally been very negative and disorganised.
