Unless he wants to take an incentivised deal or one similar to what he is on now. He shouldn’t be getting a new contract. The fucker is never fit these days and when he is. He doesn’t necessarily start ahead of Burn. 
 

That’s not meant as a slight on BDB, BTW. More that I’d imagine he is on more than Burn and Schar. But he isn’t worth that to us currently.

It does seem sadly one of those situations where a player gets a bad injury and then multiple injuries follow which affects his game and consistency. Frustrating.

Well there was one major injury and now this back issue which once it's diagnosed might just need a proper fix. It could just be two injuries that have happened but are not necessarily chronic in their own right. When he did play earlier this season it looked like his knee issues were a thing of the past. I see him as a major asset and a player for the future. The last thing I would want is to have him here for his injury period then watch him blossom somewhere else after we got him right again.
