cubaricho
Burn stepped up yesterday and took one for the team so to speak so he’ll keep the shirt on that alone. I also don’t think Howe is going to immediately throw Botman to the Man City wolves next week and he’ll get eased in like Bruno. It’s only fair and it seems to be the way Howe prefers to do things. Guest HTT II
He looked calm and assured yesterday, especially in the ball, I thought. Just screams I mean business!
MrRaspberryJam
Assured performance from him yesterday. Likes he's been playing here for years.
CPL
As others have said on the other thread. I'd play 5 at the back and let Willock come off the bench and help advance the ball more if we are still in it. We are at home so anything can happen if the fans get behind the team. Are you penciling in Lascelles? No sorry, I mean next week would be Schar/Botman/Burn and then when we revert back to 2 CBS it will be Schar and whichever one of Botman/Burn plays best next week
1892er
Thought he seemed a little bit rough round the edges but nothing too bad considering the opposition. Got sucked into watching Haaland and left a gap for their goal but didn't feel he played badly overall. Sure his confidence will grow as the season goes on. David Edgar
That cross that he just let bounce away Thought he looked a bit wooden at times. Not the dominant display I hoped for.
STM
He's been excellent so far, considering the games he's been in. He will come into his own when we are dominating the ball.
Awaymag
Hi Botman, welcome to the premier league. 2nd game in - here's Haaland for you to mark..............fuck a duck, the guy is a mountain!
David Edgar
He did well not to foul Haaland at one point. Would've been a red.
The Prophet
He was definetly shaky today, both on and off the ball. That said it was his second PL start v Man City so it's understandable.
Gallowgate Toon
I thought he was pretty good overall. That was one hell of a fast-paced match for a player brand new to the league, like, and he hardly looked out of place.
David Edgar
Just now, The Prophet said: He was definetly shaky today, both on and off the ball. That said it was his second PL start v Man City so it's understandable. It shows that Howe is right to bring these new imports in slowly. We'd probs have been better off with Schar and Burn today if Targett was fit.

1892er
Haaland is some beast like. Strong as an Ox and fast as fuck. He's quality
Dan Gleebals
Only 22, second game in the prem against one of the best sides in the world! Give him a break...
Adam
Lad is 22 and is only going to get better. Looked solid, some great and some bad but thats to be expected. Always seemed to be looking for the worldie ball over the top, which will come in very handy vs weaker teams. Just happy with have 3 top class CB's. Rafalove
Some of his passes were intercepted today but that was because he was trying to progress us up the pitch and Man City’s midfielders are good at reading the game
midds
Home debut - Man City and Haaland. Doesn't come much more difficult than that in any domestic league. Thought he did well all things considered.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Shocking decision to go out and cover Haaland for Bernardo's goal from De Bruynes pass. Now he'll know, though, good learning experience that so not too mad. Got a little deflection too but still doesmt get a pass for stepping out. He did do well generally though, great to see him looking up and forward for passes. Got high hopes already.
MrRaspberryJam
Hasn't been eased in like Bruno was. Chucked in at the deep end and has been fine. Few iffy moments today but overall very impressed. Shame that volley at the Gallowgate didn't take the roof of the net off. I think he's gonna be colossal. It's hardly unfair to point out he had a few shaky moments, thought he did well in a game of such intensity. he could easily have fell to pieces but he didn't. I think he'll improve, but I've no problem with giving him more time to settle in. Time I think he would have got, but for Targett's injury.
Smal
I thought he (and Schar) struggled but the massive, massive caveat is that it was Man City and we did not play to protect our centre backs, either.
JumpersForGoalposts
I think he'll be our next Collocini. Once he gets fully up to speed with the PL, I can see him leading our back line for the next decade.
Yorkie
I think he's had some wobbles and looked nervous and that has justified Howe's intention to edge him into the side. But he's not been bad at all against the ultimate test so it bodes incredibly well. Youngest player in the team, don't forget.
