Absolutely. He's a young Lascelles with, perhaps, more opportunities.

He's got more talent in his little toe than Lascelles.

Not sure there's many similarities between them at all

This thread is funny as it's just a procession of the highest one liner compliments. No waxing lyrical, no pontificating, no if onlys. Just admiration. Doesn't really get much better than that for a defender.

I don’t want to disrespect Lascelles and what he’s done for the club, but this

The bedding in thing was a bit silly really (in the nicest way), to me he looked class from minute one. But we went through the motions of introducing him slowly still.

Was clear he was the main one we wanted in January and you can see why. He’s made to build a team around, 22 years old and already looks totally at home,

£32m man, ridiculous bargain.

Spurs spent £45m on Davison Sanchez.

Nah no other team spent money on players, only Newcastle does that.

 I'm sure it'll be relevant in time, but at the moment we have a back 5 that cost £5m less than Harry Maguire, a midfield that cost £6m less than Casemiro, and a strike force that cost £5m less than Anthony.

The idea that we've bought our current position is ludicrous like, we haven't even gone beyond the surplus that Ashley accrued yet.

And that's before getting onto the fact that 2 of our best performing players have been:

  • a converted number 9 flop who became our Player of the Season winning box-to-box destroyer
  • a player bought nearly 4 years ago, who we all agreed was the player that most needed replacing and our weakest link - who's now our top scorer and 5th top scorer in the league
